Default f-18 operating canopy

hey guys, i am building a yellow 18 twin - old fuse ,and have tried the hinging for the operating canopy 3 diff ways and not happy with any of them.
would love some insight from those who have found a method they liked!
and of course pics tell a thousand words !

Hi,

Kinda dumb question, but did you try it the way it's spelled out in the instructions? Do you have any pics of your setup? I'm sure I've got pics on my other computer. I'll try and find them.

using the brass tube as the hinge line and trying to get a scale looking, tight canopy hinge line.
the canopy always binds on fuse when opening .
if you leave unsightly gaps it works fine.
tried offset hinges, but that lets canopy wiggle too much.
not my first rodeo......
