Well, as much as I like the Golden Crown scheme I think I've decided to go for the classic Skyblazers scheme.
Has anyone received one in this scheme yet? I've seen the pic on their site and it looks 'wrong' - not sure if this is an actual 1/5 model or not??
Pls post pics if you can!
Thanks,
Mark

Hey Reza,
Cheers for that. That's how I want mine to look but if you go to the SM 1/5 F86 page and look at the Skyblazer scheme it just doesn't look right! Silver looks wrong, colours look too dark and not sure what the dark grey bands are on the wing roots.
I'm hoping that is an old 1/8 model and that they'd do a stunning job nowadays on their 1/5 version.
Anton, any comments?

Mark the one on the picture is the smal F-86. Skymaster can have the paint modified per your specs if you desire...
Contact Ali I am sure he will help you out on that...

Hi Scot,
Did you manage to fly your Sabre? Here is link to video. Sorry for low resolution but you can see it can land in 100m.
I tested the slats and speed brake. Very effective. Model very stable.

Hi Morne,
Thanks for posting that - put my mind at rest regarding this model and my grass site - looked like a nice short landing and rollout (things should stop a little quicker on grass too I guess!)
Anton, if you read this, any chance you can ping a reply re the scheme question I had?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Morne,
Thanks for the video, it looks just as you described. I cant wait.
Im shooting for next weekend. Its been alot of fun to put together.
I love this airplane. It's the most advanced product I have seen from SM. Beautiful aircraft and great design.
I'll take a few pics and post them tomorrow.

Hi,
I have cut a hatch on 1 side. I use the steel wire through gun holes to secure hatch. So can not see when done.
It is difficult to remove canopy with plumbing installed. So a hatch is a must to access all fittings...
The other side will have the gun installed.

Morne

Hi,
I checked manual. It states 340 - 360mm. Maybe you have the 1st sample manual. Start with 350mm. It will be safe. Then move for your preference.

You will have to send pic of the real SkyBlazer to get the paint right on the wing root, because it is still too dark on the paint job they did.
Or maybe they have a different picture of that plane they are using to make the paint job from , who knows , you have to decide if it is correct for you.
Here are some pics of Shalis Patel excellent plane and the real plane.
