I have sent them a mail to see if they can make units that are small enough, and what the price will be.
I will keep you updated!

Similar in size to my uOLEDscreens....
Why don't use the 1,5" uOLED displays? Cost are similar ($ 65) and they come ready to cycle videos or pictures....

And where did you get the videos?

So you don't have to use any extra equipment - you just load the video into these units and play?
If that is correct they are even better!!
What kind of format can they play?
I made the videos by filming the PC-screen with my videocamera, zooming in on a flight sim called
A10 Lock On, the other one (flying over San Francisco) I made by filming the screen while scrolling
Google Earth, then I edited it in Sony Vegas and put the symbols on top of the video.

I don´t have any extra equipment. Just 5V to pin 1 and ground to pin 4 (normally I use a receiver battery for power the displays on) and that's it!! (watch the pictires I uploaded in my post No. 78)
The screens play the videos I have recorded in theuSD card. They are in.AVI format.
I don't know which kind of formatit plays because all the info I have, reads that it can play images and videos, but don't specify which formats( I supposethat it support all type of formats)
I just used asoftware called Camtasia Studio and recorded the PC screenwhen playing Falcon 4.0 Allied Forces software that is an F-16 combat simulator. The I used the smart focus tool on this software to record only the MFD screens (first the right one and then the left one) and got a .AVI file for each MFD (32 Mb each file) and then I uploaded the files to each uSD card using the sofware I downloaded for theuOLED displays, and done!!!.

Nice HUD, Guillermo!
How did you make the letters and symbols on the HUD?
Here is a new 4.3" OLED player that fits in the cockpit of my new SM 1:6 F-16 - I will have to
place all the instruments on one level, and cut openings for the instruments, then everything
will come to life - it even has a nice speaker so I can add pilot-to-tower communication!!

You told me how. Don't remember? See post No, 21 on this thread.
I played again the Falcon 4.0 simulation game, paused the action and got all the HUD info.
Then I draw by hand with a small ruler, all the simbols in a masking tape, placed the tape in the plastic HUD, and using a X-Acto sharp knife, I scratched the HUD following the pattern I draw in the tape.
NIce job with your panel Want to see it working......

I was also thinking about installing a speaker for tower to pilot communication but I need some small device that send the audio to the speaker. How are you doing this?
Keep the good work and keep in touch

I got a light set that I'd like to put in a plane. It doesn't have a way to turn it on/off and I tried settings in the radio and that doesn't appear to work either. What would I need that is inexpensive so that I can turn this off via the radio?

Hi Guillermo!
I was wondering if that's how you did it - it just looked so nice and detailed that
I thought you had found a better way!! Good idea with the masking tape!
The OLED unit I am going to use is a complete MP5-player with an amplifier and
2 small speakers, and the sound is pretty loud, so you will be able to hear pilot/
tower comm nice and clear! [8D] It only weighs 98 grammes incl. battery!

A better way is to find a trasparent uOLED and stick to the HUD like a tape and display all the information a OSD can display in a telemetry system

My light system plugs directly into the RX and uses the RX power. I was hoping there was some sort of switch that can be controlled via the radio that has normal servo type plugs.
#123
Sweetpea - if your light system are Luxeon emitters I would be very careful about
plugging them into the RX - they draw a lot of power and could possibly give you
a failsafe condition. If they are not Luxeon emitters (and this is not sarcastic, just
an experienced fact) - they will not show in daylight, so don't install them.

Thanks for the info. Not sure what they are exactly, I'll look it up. They would plug into the EQ6 I'm using so the max volt they will get is 6V
