Been in the office and back from FJ a few hours, great few days with friends. I hadn't been since 2004 and the weather was good again (as 2004!) with a good number of visitors.
Had the chance to fly BV's Bandit ARF and Electra Turbine as I travelled for business without a Jet. Saturday was perfect as I had a flight with Francis Super Bandit P120SE...sweet flying aeroplane!

Thanks to Dustin and Rob from BVM for helping two of my friends with their first turbine flights..the spending flood gates are open now

Few shots

Was she really believing you when you said you were asking that question on my behalf ??
Hmmm... I shouldn't dare to try to ask mine...
Suppose she finds out the REAL value of a turbine... ( " ...yes honey, only 500 euro or so, for the whole plane ! Incredible what they can do in Asia for this kind of money, isn't it ? " )

Sorry, we're off-topic but I couldn't resist !

We don't actually know what happened to the F-18. It had intermittent control from takeoff to crash. The receiver (FAAST) checked out fine. so [sm=72_72.gif]. Also, see what happens when you fall asleep at Florida Jets!!!

What/who was involved in the mid-air?

Bob
One of them involved was the F-86 piloted by Jim Hiller (I think). I'd have to look at my notes for the other plane though. I'm in the airport right now on my way home, so I won't be able to find out until I get home.

I was taking a series of pictures of the F-86 as it was doing a show pass. If I would have kept the snapshots going for maybe two more shots I would have captured the colision. Here are the shots leading up to the mishap. I promised the F-86 owner I would forward a full resoulution copy, so I will need him to contact me.

Yes. It was from the RCI group. One of their Demo planes.

This is exactly what happened to me. I took a series of shots of the F-86 and then took my camera down to go to something else. As soon as I had the camera away from my eye it happened. I was able to get back up in time to still catch the debris in the air.

This is correct. Although I don't know who was piloting it for this flight.

I'm really not sure exactly what happened as I was already turning my eyes away from the F-86.

Like I said, I was just moving to something else to take pictures of. I rarely stopped taking pics while I was there. I moved off of the F-86 because it had moved down to my right and was out past the point where I could still get pictures of it. We were supposed to have 2 of us at the event to cover it, but unfortunately he had a family emergency and had to cancel at the last minute (well, on tuesday of last week!!!). So I was covering the event myself. Usually he will shoot video and I will shoot stills, but I had to do both myself. Ask anybody that was there, I must have been quite a site with my still camera and the video camera hanging from my neck, and I was going back and forth between them!!!!! Oh hang on, I forgot I have a couple of pictures of me there. The one with the Mig on it, you can see me in the background on my knees shooting video.

Well good on ya! You are doing a fine job for all of us and we sure do appreciate it, I know it's a lot of work.

I wish I would have known who you were so I could have introduced myself; anyhow I'm Bryce, nice to meet you.

And this sir is my good friend......
