Scott
I'm sure it will be open. We are getting there early Wed afternoon and I'll make sure it will be open even if I have to sit at the gate until you arrive.

I am REALLY stoked to be attending Afterburner.

Most of the pilots who'll be there are probably RCU jet forum frequenters. Is there any way to include RCU nicknames on ID badges so we can see who the hell we've been insulting all these years?

Also, from what I've been reading about Mississippi Afterburner, the event motto might be...EAT TO FLY, FLY TO EAT.

Thanks,
Bob
Bob,

We don't need no stinkin' badges..... and years ago I pretty much insulted everyone on RCU so it's a pretty good chance I got you too! And that (Eat to fly) is definetly the Mississippi Gang motto!

Looking good Buck. I can see a drag race in the future at Mississippi between F-4's. We are gonna load up Buck with mudbugs before he goes back to Texas. And with that extra propulsion brewing, he'll pass every car on I-20 west. Just hope he rides with a window or two down.

Vernon, maybe Buck can make it as far as Marshall TX before things let go.

For those that don't know the story, ask Vernon or David about Marshall TX.

The number one rule to live by after eating mud bugs......never trust a fart! Always carry an extra roll of TP, and when your buddy says pull off at the next exit.....DO IT!

I need to figure out how to get there for a day or two.

Vernon may need to provide the cheese wheel for a little peace of mind driving home.

I forgot about that one. But after what David left in there, burning it to the ground was the best option

Andy, are still gonna have the smoke oil at the event? Just checking. Now back to finishing up the taxes [] grrrrrrrrrrr

Yes! Bringing 55 gallons - I just got the pump for the drum. I'll do my taxes the night they are due. I hate giving the gov any of my money any sooner than possible.
Andy, forgot to ask, what kind of smoke oil are you selling?

FYI, the Jet Pilots Organization will be represented at MA this year and once again the JPO is sponsoring the Top Gun trophy. We will also be taking pictures and getting information for an upcoming Contrails event report.

Look for our banner at the Georgia Jets tent and stop by to chat, pick up a copy of Contrails or better yet, join up/renew if you are not a member. Ask me about a special deal on renewals or new memberships!

An additional benefit for all JPO members is a free logbook to keep track of your turbine flights. Sponsored in part by Jet Central and Jet Cat, these handy logbooks are just now being printed and will soon be sent to all current members as well as anybody else who joins or renews this year.

See you there,

Craig

Yes, the bugs will light you up. But you can counter the effect somewhat by following them down with some home made ice cream which I have been making over the past few days. It takes a while to do 12 gallons. But the good part is the chef gets to sample the goods as he's making it. Vanilla with chocolate chips and pecans, vanilla with blueberries and vanilla with strawberries. Dennis's wife makes that killer orange sherbert.

When I first read about Mississippi Afterburner I thought, "What a cool name for a jet event!" and decided to check out the Southern jet scene by making the trip to Jackson.

I'm really stoked about being there.

I have to confess, however, that I thought the AFTERBURNER part of the event name referred to jets. But after reading about some of the food that's going to be there, I've come to the realization that the "AFTERBURNER" part of the name is actually referring to what one's butt will be going through during the event.

Have the hotels been alerted that they'll probably need to have extra toilet paper on hand this weekend?

Hey Vernon.

Are you guys closing the airport again per notams? We will be flying down for the day again in our Baron. I just need to know what time we have to be there by (most likely on Sat). Last year ATC gave us some grief because we were going to arrive 5 min after the posted closing. Michelle was great about it and it was no big deal.

Can't wait for this year.

Looks like were bringing the twin tiger F-16's again.

Don
