Default Jomar Gear Door sequencer

I need to fit a gear door sequencer to my current building project.

I intend to use air retracts (Robart) & servo driven doors & have noticed the Jomar sequencer on the Tower website.

Has anyone had any experience with one of these good or bad? [&o]

I previously use an Ace Servo Master unit on another model but it didn't last long at all. - John.

Jet Model Products sells a very good one and it is priced well. Mine have lasted for years.

I have used them all and the Jomar is OK. The issue I have with it is that the servo throw is preprogrammed and it doesn't seem to match the throw of the valves very well. Having said this, you can play with the position of the servo arm and eventually match the throw of the valve. I find if I start at 90 degrees and end up with the arm pointed at the valve to cut down a bit on the total throw, that works.

Give a choice, I prefer the JMP sequencer. The throws match the valves better and I like the fact that there is a positive cycling of the doors when I turn the unit on. Tom Cook is very easy to deal with too. I have used his sequencer extensively without a single issue.

Dude - I actually have one NEW IN PLASTIC!! I think I've had it for like 8 years. It is a nice device but I think it is a bit outdated. Having said that, it does work as advertised. But like pilott28 stated, you will probably need to "mess" with the linkage a bit...

My model has 4 inch wheels so the doors will be pretty big so I'm going to use standard (full size) servos, not micros or minis.

Thanks for the info guys, the travel mis match does not worry me, I'm old enough to remember the linkage tricks from when radios did not have travel adjust! [&o] - John.

What a concept: solve a problem with your brain rather than spending money/opening your wallet to get the latest gizmo. [8D] The Jomar sequencers work great; I've used them more than once. I especially like their small footprint.

I used a jomar some years back and i ended up using a ez connector on the servo arm with no screw, just let the wire slide thru it and had two wheel collars for adjustment. It worked !!! ha

PS: my current fav is the JMP unit
