Hello everybodi
Recently I bougt one BD-5 XtremeJets, but I haven,t assembly instruccions, for this I like to see some pictures about installation of components like engine, exhaust sistem, principal door .... I would be grateful if someone could to put pictures . I,m installing one Merlin 90 and the wheight empty of fuell is 27,5 lbs. Will be good performance? For equilibrate the C.G I have to put 2.6 lbs in the nose, Is this normal?.
I think that the exhaust sistem is to short because not arrive at the end of the fuselage, I,ll have to cut arround 3.5 inch of the fuselage fiber tube?
Thank you in advanced
David

David, looking good. Try to move those batts more up front. Also the ecu and rx, and is possible the jetronic valve. Moving the engine more forward will help you eliminate some extra lead in the nose. You said the pipe is too short. But in the pics looks like it need to be more to the rear. You shold left a gap abot 3/4 inch from tip of exhaust cone to lip of bell mouth in the pipe. Just my opinion from what I can see in the pics.
Saludos,
Alex

yes, as Alex said, the Gap for the Nozzle with bell mouth is 20mm , this will save the problem for the tailpipe too short , and pls noted the CG position in the Carbon wingspar..

Thank you guys, for your soon answers.
Installing the engine the most forward, only reduce 0.5 lbs ,and exhaust pipe will be most short , I put a picture whit the new situation of the engine but even so the gas pipe is still very short. I think that I will have to cut the fiber pipe of the plane arround 3,5 inch

My son ”jet dude” is building same BD-5 as you. His pipe was also to short.
But we are going to weld 130mm extension in front of the pipe so the turbine is over CG

How much was the shipping to the USA? And how is the glass construction, is it flimsy or does it feel solid. The reason I ask is I just purchased a MIG-29 kit from SkyMaster and the glass work is very flimsy.

Thanks, Joe
