Hi guys,
I was wondering how long most of you flew RC before you started in turbines. There is a whole different world out there with turbines. It seems like you would have to have someone you knew help to teach you jets because there is so much to learn. Got to love them too!

If you are interested in jets I would suggest attending a jet rally. As luck would have it, there is one going on now in Winamac IN. About 90 miles from you. It lasts until Sunday.
Looks like you already have a F16 & F18

I'm just starting with Jets. Never too late or too soon. I'm actually looking into an engine for a particular model.
However, I've been building model airplanes since I was seven or so. I designed and built my first CL model when I was 15.
I've always built. designed and scratched models throughout the years, even through the years I owned real airplanes. Took my first flying lesson at age 18 in a taildragger.
Started RC in the late 70's. Although I do little flying, I'm still designing and scratch building to this day.
Yes, I'm considering Jets. Just considering. Gathering information about Jet power is my current goal for a particular model that I'm scratch building. A model jet I designed almost 27 years ago.
Yes, I believe it will work today, and with help from those many generous Jet pilots, I'll make it work.
At 63, I'm still looking forward to building new models I have on the drawing board, and finishing some that I've never completed. There's plenty of them.

For me I've been flying since 1990. Started jets last year. I think I finally got to a point in my life where the prices of jets came down and I finally felt like I could afford them (although I question that every time I order a part). They are fun...a lot more maintenance IMHO than the aerobatic stuff.

I started building kits of gliders and slope soarers when I was about 13. I got in and out of flying for the next decade or so, but bought my first turbine at 35. I put it on a test bench just so I could figure it out. I got her in a Comp-ARF Flash a year later. Talk about anticipation! I've only been in jets now for a couple years, but now it's in my blood. The people are a really cool, tight group. Always there to help you out when you need something.
