Default Willow Run??

I heard a rumor that some guy's will be going to the Willow on the same weekend as Fresno Jets??? Is this true? I am working in Fairfield and commuting back home in my Decathlon, but working 10 hours and not able to leave until Saturday. Unfortunately I wont be able to make it back home and have time to drive to Fresno but if some guy's are going to the Willow I will just fly straight there and hang out for the day. Let me know, it would be great to see some buddy's after this crazy work schedule I am doing now.

Please tell me we aren't planning a Willow run/Fresno boycott trip....Us West coast jet folk should be sticking together and having fun...that's our reputation and a lot of people envy it.

I will send my fuel with Jimmy, no sense paying high fuel prices PLUS your mark up!! I will also send my generator so you don't take me to the cleaners for charging your batteries.......Supa Horny huh?? How much is alot o' money? I could go for some of that action, been a while.

Kenny Mac, I have no idea, I just heard that there will be a few guy's there and I was going to fly over on my way home. I've been way too far out of the loop for a while, and just want to see my buddies.

Dave,

I had planned on going to fresno to hang with the boyz. However due to the disrespect of 2 friends of mine Tamm and Jimmy I have decided to pass this year and go to the Willow that weekend instead. It will be a little less drive and a bunch of fun with my bros. Hope you guys can make it.[sm=wink_smile.gif]

I hope everything gets sorted out in this whole deal. there are only so many of us over here on the West Coast and I hate to see something simple snowball in to this. I don't want to start seeing a segregation of jet events. Then it turns in to a ***-for-tat, Fresno Jets for California Jets, etc, etc.

Guys, these are toy airplanes that we use as an excuse to get together, drink non-alcoholic beverages, and BS with each other. Let's leave the politics and hurt feelings to the politicians. No one's making a living doing this crap (except for maybe Alan Szabo), so lets not take ourselves to seriously.

I'm looking forward to seeing EVERYONE at Fresno Jets, and I am also looking forward to getting a picture of the most UB's at one location. Let's all do the right thing and support the scheduled event, we'll regret it in the long run if not.

LOL Ron - You think THAT was disrespect ? IMO if you really want to see disrespect, you should have seen some of the previous years' stuff that has gone on. (I don't think you were in the jet scene at the time - maybe 2 or 3 years ago ?). When some people commented here on RCU about some issues/concerns from the prior year's Fresno event and asked whether there could be some improvements made, the responses on here from some event organizers/officials got surprisingly nasty, surprisingly quickly : telling people straight out that if they didn't like the way things had been done in the past, they should stay the &^* home ... anyone who had prepaid and was suggesting improvements was offered their money back if the'd just %^* off and stay away from Fresno.

Kinda made me wonder at the time whether Frank Tiano had a twin brother here on the West Coast, as it was the kind of attitude he's infamous for.

Eventually the nasty stuff was deleted and someone else with a bit more reason started trying to convince people to still attend; I remember a bunch of emails in which Bob Wilcox went well out of his way to contact and convince many people to support the event DESPITE the hotheaded attempts by organizers to drive us away. So the "we gotta stick together" ralling cry has already been used successfully at least once - but I'm hearing from quite a lot of people that there's little chance of the same strategy working a second time. Who knows though - there's still a few weeks, so maybe the wounds can be healed.

I'll try to make it out to whichever one most of you guys are going to ... I have family arriving tomorrow from the UK, for about 3 or 4 weeks (complete with 3 young girls who never stop talking / singing), so I will ABSOLUTELY be ready for a break once that's all over !

Gordon

Chad,
I supported many event a year all over the country. That is a lot money donate to help the jets community. I don't want this kind of things happen as much as you do.

Tam,

I know you have been supportive of many events, and they have been a big reason for some of your success. I personally called Mark today to discuss this. I will share with you that he was very upset that this had been blown out of proportion. It really was his intent to find out who had talked out of turn at the event last year. Somehow, it got turned in to this mess. I'm not defending Mark, he is a big boy and can do that on his own. Sometimes his direct, "A" type personality comes across wrong. Again, he was not upset that you would not be donating anything, he was upset that you had been disrespected at last year's event, and didn't say anything until this year. This probably could have been resolved with a face-to-face meeting at the event last year.

Either way, I know no one wants this wedge driven between us.

Lets just all get to Fresno safely, hug, drink some green bottles, and move on.

Toy airplanes guys......
