Illini Super Jets 2009
October 2-4
OK everybody this event has been by word of mouth mosty till now. But its getting close and we wanted to try and get the word out to more of the Jet world. This is the first year for the event and we hope to grow this event largley in the coming years.
The event will be held at the new Eli Field in Monticello Il. We just finished putting the center stripe on the brand new 800x50 foot paved runway.
The field is an excellent place to fly jets and as time goes we will continue to grow the facilities.
Thursday is setup and open flying.
We will have covered overnight storage or the models each night .

Hopefully everyone can make it as we can garenty a great time.
I will get some photos up of the field and also more hotel info soon.
As for now lets start a roll call.

Hey Guys,
Here are some pictures of the field in it early stages of development. The first is Chris Huhn's Ultra and the overfly area. The second is one end of the approach and the third is Pits/Taxi ways before the grass was growing.

Eli Field is a fantastic site. It's conception and development came out of a true passion for the hobby, by people with their hearts in the right places.
I'm sure this will be a fantastic event, and I wish you guys much success.

We have a block of rooms in Monticello at the Foster Inn. Special pricing if you mention Illini Super Jets.
There is a home U of I football game that weekend.
Foster Inn
1414 N. Market Street
Moticello, IL

If you don't find anything there you will probably need to go to Decatur. It is about 28 miles West of Monticello.
Camping is welcome at the field. There are no hook ups.

How about a map, or directions to the field from the main highways also.
