Children, behave yourself. Try a flight simulator, TV or a beer. I am sure all of you, grown men (may be not we are still playing with toys), have something better to do.

Best,

The butchered language is a cheap shot but it only reflects back on those taking the shot. By the way, the Brazilian posters' native language is Portuguese so Les you should take your Spanish post, go back to Babel Fish, get it re-translated into Portuguese and then post it.

Doug Cronkhite is correct, if this stuff is going on its wrong. The trouble is that it is tough to police. Should Anonfly have just gone privately to BV; he could have but then what would Bob do?

Some of you might have known Adrian Page, a pretty good former designer/kit supplier. In his case, the Chinese clones frustrated him to the point that he said enough. BV is better established than Adrian was, so he can absorb some cloning, but it all takes a toll.

Lars
For your information, I dont even know what babel fish is but it's obvious that you do. I am fluent in Spanish and don't need anyone to translate for me. I can read, write and speak it probably more fluently than you can. I also know that they speak Portugese in Brazil. I'm not uneducated. But evidently you didnt read post number 34. Go back and look at it. siclick33 posted "I think it's a bit of a cheap shot taking the mickey out of a South American, whose first language isn't English, for their grammar. Why don't you write your posts in Spanish so we can all have a laugh?"
So I posted in Spanish as requested.
As for the cheap-shot, I simply used an online dialectizer to dialectize Patrick Frosts post into jive. I thought Patrick's post was comical and to put it into jive was even funnier. My issue is with the people who think that it's perfectly okay to copy and sell other people's products. Besides, they are the ones that are cloning the models and I don't believe that the intent in the first post was fully innocent. I may be wrong but it sure appears suspicious and seems like an attempt to draw people to that site for sales.

I've got models to build.

ORIGINAL: Rafael Alonso

My name is Rafael Alonso, son of Viper’s manufacturer.

The person who posted this comment doesn’t know what he’s talking.

The model Viper is not a clone as said. It had its characteristics changed based on Bandit, but with enhanced Wingspan. Its profile is different, it is a taller model featuring more internal space – differences you will notice simply by comparing it to a Bandit, differences are huge. Some are thinking it is the same just because of the painting BVM… is it a crime to copy paintings? We have recently made a registration so as to clarify any doubts… who are we to copy a model from the master Bob Violet? We have just made a model inspired on it. We did not post that, it was from someone who doesn’t have anything to do and wants to show up in the international community. And to the ones who thought the construction is not good, the airplane is fully made with real manufacturing material. We have always been very successful in our constructions being that admired by Chip Ride that flew our models in <country-region><place>Brazil</place></country-region>, Quique Somenzini, David Patrick and Marcelo Colombo thus constructions are real good. Our marketshare is focused in <country-region>Brazil</country-region>, we do not have any interest in importing models, so this post was not created by us, it was created by a person from <city><place>São Paulo</place></city>, we know by whom.

Thanks for your comprehension.

Rafael Alonso.

Attitudes like this eventually make the people doing the REAL work stop wanting to do so. Then these people cloning airplanes will have nothing to splash, and might actually have to do their own development work. Stealing is stealing, even if you get a better deal.

Fortunately, you'll never get the kind of service from a cloned engine manufacturer that you will from Dave Johnson and his staff at Desert Aircraft.

BobH,
I just believe some of these guys are taking us to the cleaners in a hand basket, their products are manufactured where labour is almost 0 and they bring them back to the US and get 300% profit[:'(] for 1 item then feed us again a whole lot of BS About R&d etc etc.
Clone away potential cloners .cloning will never stop be it RC or whatever else thats a way of life everyone has family to feed.Cloners love to drink champagne and eat steaks also. Uncle B will keep getting them made and shafting us so keep cloning

kingtight.. I've seen the Chineese steal patents and products a plenty over the years.. I've never liked it though and I'm not persuaded its a good thing.
For the Chineese who develope their own products etc.. more power to them

Nobody can get raked over the coals unless they want to.. Its still the buyers repsonsibility to do his home work and ultimately his decision to buy or not to buy.

You understand my point about sending me some of your money? I don't know how much you have or don't have. The amount you have doesn't matter. What does matter is that its your money, not mine and I'm not entitled to it. Just as the cloners aren't entitled to the intellectual property of some one else.

Even though I was Scolded like a school boy at Cal. jets by a 80 year old man ,(AKA BV) and if he wasn't 80 he sure looked like he was. I hope I still have your vote at our election. No on deserves that not even Gustavo Alonso! again my 2 cents.

Ok guys, it's ok to discuss the issues dealing with clones jets. But the personal attacks, political commentay, and other off topic postings need to stop. I've stepped in and cleaned up this thread of some of this garbage. Please let's not go back down that road again.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Hey how come everyone talking about cloning BVM planes ??

Arent the other planes clones too ?

I believe the crux of the matter is not BVM but the price people pay for these things. Then when someone comes out with a wayyyy lower price, the buyers get mad, hence they have to vent.
Once big money involved watch out !
I would feel bad and get angry too if I shelled out thousands for a product and then later on someone comes out with simliar product for less than half the price. Such as life.
Some of these guys wives dont know how much we spend on the hobby. Imagine how they'd think : Toy plane $7000.00 !!!! Are you mad !
But honey the designers spent many hours on R&D, shipping, and lots of sleepness nights. Incoming ! (Frying pan in the head)
After much turmoil she says either you go or I go. The man says the toy planes stays. The wife in dissarray speaks to herself in her mind: What! Who did I marry ?

This is not real and not pratical !

Where's them divorce papers.
