hello,
Im new to jet and I have a Tamjets F18F Hornet ready for engine install. I know , this is too much for me to fly now, but I do want it put it together. I couldnt find anyone in the LA area to finish her up for me so I decided to take the plunge.
2 questions..
1. this has all the servos installed as well as retracts except the turbine and accessories. I have BVM smooth stop and high flow valves. Do I need a sequencer? i noticed that the gear doors close and open by themselves but Im wondering if sequencer would be better since its electronic and also the brake. If one is needed then which one? i dont want to break the bank either..
2. Does it matter where you put the solonoids? what I mean is does it have to be near the engine or could it be where the canopy is?
better yet, does anyone have a pic of this plane's build?
Thanks..

Many ways on how to do this, do some more serching and pick the one you like, certanlly a sequencer is one way to go. About the selenoids they can go under the canopy or near the engine , all depends if you have room near the engine like the L-39 they are near the engine but on my TJ F-16 they are under the accessory tray ( tight space ).

Here are some pics to give you some ideas, start looking for istallations on all types of jet and that should give you a good idea the how to, a new RCU feture is that you can pull all the pics for the threads all at onece, NICE!!!
On this install I got the propane can also by the engine.
The first pic is from someone ealses inst, the rest are mine but, just to show you that same airplane dif. install.

You will be sequencing the gear and doors only, the brakes will be or could be on the right slider on your radio, ready to turn on or off at your command, ou could use the Ultra-precisiond valva ( AIR UP2 or UP3 ) or electrical from Jetronics.
Yes on the usege of sequencers ( main gear and doors ) then again they can be use to sequence many things.
