I replaced the Byron head on my OS 91 with a standard small head. Now the compression is low. Is there any other changes required? I want to do the same with my OS 77. Thanks.

Logically there really shouldn't be any real change in the compression.
Some obvious questions tho--is the head sealed tightly --screws tight----etc
Was the contact areas squeaky clean when installing the head to the crankcase body? That is, no foriegn particles to corrupt the seal?
By chance did the old head gasket get left on and thereby having a double thickness gasket, which would lower the compression?

Rod,
I will remove the small head tonight and check for any shims. Then I will tighten down all the screws and check for compression. Thanks for the areas to check. Will let you know what I find.
