I've been seeing quite a few videos where the 2.5 las LED lights built into the leading edge of the wing. Anyone know where to source these?

Mine was a kit and came with a cd with some pictures in it. the builder of the kit needs to have some experience building.

Mine is ordered. Should be shipping when everyone gets back from the Holiday -- somewhere around Jan 10. My wife and kids bought it for me as a Christmas present... the best present ever

I'm going to watch your videos when I get home. Does anyone know if the rumor is true about bvm taking over tomahawk aviation? I know elite dropped them.
I have a keen interest in either this jet or the leonardo in a 2ish meter.

I understand Tomahawk sold some molds to Jet Legend. They were already making the Sabre ARF and Rx ready versions. Not sure what planes are involved, but don’t think are all of them.

Does anyone haul their 2.5m Futura in a Tahoe/Yukon? I’ve got a 1.9 and am considering building a 2.5, just not sure if the fuse will fit in my GMC Yukon.

Yes, it will fit but with the nose resting between the front seats. I've done it with my Yukon.

I fit it in the Honda Pilot and as mentioned, the nose goes between the front seats all the way to about 2” to the front dash.

Thanks! I was assuming it would most likely. I appreciate the affirmation.

Either of you have a newer V2 version? How is the quality compared to the original? I believe they are built by Jet Legend now.

Mine is from original kit and i built it and it is a beautiful plane. I was thinking of getting a smaller one but have not heard that they are making them at JL factory.

My 1.9 is one of the last to be made from Germany. Or so I was told. I know that they are producing some of them in Asia. At least that is what a former dealer told me. Jet legend is a rumor I heard and was also mentioned in the thread a few posts earlier. It makes sense now that BVM is the current distributor.

I have seen some of the new production, they are much heavier...the tail end particularly seems heavy. A guy with the 1.9 has around 500g of nose weight and someone just building a 2.5 is going to need kilos of weight! The empty vertical fin weights 15% more than his larger Mephisto fin complete with servos and linkage!!

Dave is this due to the way they lay up the fibreglass and not using carbon fibre?

I would say layup and painting process. The finish was pretty good-although I know one of the 1.9’s had an issue with paint adhesion.
European type moulding has always been amongst the lightest with the access to the best resin and plywood.

the 2.5M Futura that i built came to 37.5 LB with full UAT. I build light and don't add a gram of unneeded weight anywhere from the pattern days but i know that there is no way other manufacturers could layup a plane that size that light. Here is the picture of inside. I did not do it bare.

I guess it depends on the color and coverage, color such as yellow is hard taking multiply coats . Paint adhesion could be a chemical bond, mechanical and possible some type of contaminate in the product or air.
Unless it's in an airtight paint booth anything is possible.
