Air sequencer valve vs transmitter programming

Assuming money is not a concern, how many would opt for an air valve sequencer over programming delays into your transmitter (I'm also assuming your transmitter can do that)

Hey Mike, this is just my humble opinion but personally, I bought a sequencer for a less complicated installation. Since your F16 is all done and the system has been reliable I would just keep it. This is assuming you are talking about the F16.
I would imaging most would choose which system to go with before the jet is complete. Or to better utilize space.

No Pete, I'm not thinking of changing the F-16. I was asking in regards to a new build. I'm still leaning toward training on another aircraft. The F-16 is one of the best looking planes in my view, but with my orientation challenges over the years, I'm really worried about crunching it. I was when I bought it, but went for it because it was a good deal and it looked great. You've been VERY helpful so this is not personal at all!

Personnaly, I'm using programming delays, but I have to admit that with the 14mz it's more then easy, still I think it's more a question of space (2 valves + 2 servos vs one (multi)valve with sequencer)... BTW : My first jet was a F16, and it was really easy to fly...

If everything could be done at my TX, I would consider leaning that way. Otherwise I would do on-board sequencing, but I personally would stay away from the all-in-one valves.
I have one of those all-in-one valves in my Jag just now, and if it were not for the fact that tearing it all out and redoing it is a lot of work, I would already have tossed it. Something like Dan Gill's sequencer plus separate valves just gives much more flexibility than the limited programmability that my EV5U has, and can be cheaper as well depending on the vales / valves+servos that you choose to use it with.

with my 14mz and my 12z when i have chanels left i use them
...when i run out of chanels then i use sequencer .
..at the end of the day both are the same...just with the sequencer you save from one up to two chanels
price...sequencer vs two servos you do the math
...resently i have used for a customers jet the UP valves
and this is what i would like to bring in
...both above ways cant deal with something...if the delay is not good when presure=speed of each system=weels/doors change
for example lowering the retract maybe the doors will close fast and keep a leg in
or when legs retracting up if they are slow they will stay out from the doors.because UP valve does the sequence michanicly.. if the leg dont go all the way up to give the right presure the door wont close and will wait for it!
on the way down if the leg wont lock all the way the door wont close..
this is more safe and smart...because no matter the speed change at the end all will be done with the right sequence

I like to use a sequenser. In my next model i will have the new Powerbox "cockpit" This have 11 channels, 4 with servomatch AND a sequenser! The sequenser have 6 servo intake, and you can programme all six individually! You programme it thru the sensorswitch, and it is a display on the powerbox.

I like a sequencer and the one I have used the most is the RCBee sequencer. It has a warning to protect against switching on and inadvertantly raising the gear. It has 2 modes, one for normal doors open gear down and staying open till gear up or, gear down doors close and doors open before gear is down. There is a variable delay. It is simple cheap and works well. It saves a channel as you only need one for the gear and doors. I tried with using micro switches etc but this is far better. I prefer several electronic valves rather than one all in one. I like the Jetronic valves with the air save facility.
