well i would suggest chad ships it back for you.
Wouldn't make much sense to send it to the U.S. for two reasons.....1) He didn't buy it from here. 2) He would pay as much to send it here as he would Germany.

Gotta think Sandor, gotta think.
for 157 usd i FLY to freaking turkey.

didnt think , just like the internal sensor that measures the control of the fuel you once mentioned

Sandor, maybe that internal sensor that measures the air flow every so often came loose and hit the turbine wheel, causing the failure.

just kidding!

That looks a lot like the rear bearing failure I had with my last RAM 1000.

By the way being naturally very dissapointed with the incident,I guess we all have to accept that any industrial product may have a problem some time or the other. It'
is how the manufacturer reacts to the problem that actually counts.

We shall altogether see in this case how Evojet will deal with the matter.

Regards

Eray

Today I have been informed by the dealer I got the turbine, that it was indeed a rear bearing failure and that I shall be recieving a new turbine next week.
As for the damage on the airframe I was told that Mr.Arno Hausmann's comments were : ' I was responsible for the fire and therefore for the damage on the airframe and electronics because I did not have a fire extinguisher on hand'

I once again thank everyone for their kind attention.

Regards

Eray

Thats good to hear. As for the airframe im with Evojet, treat every turbine start to be a uncontrollable fire waiting to happen.

Not sure about that, but my friend purchased an EVO Booster 160 brand new from the US rep. When he got it, the ECU had like 4 hours of run time on it. Not sure what that is all about. His turbine did not look like yours did, but I would think that the ECU would show 0 time on it.

It is so used..Almost all screws have sign of wear, the rear part of the body is brown as it gets, and there are more then enough scratches on the body due to mounting(various I guess),even the part where the starter o ring touches the shaft has plenty of black residue...

I am so very upset, really its more the feeling of being taken for an idiot rather than the money...
Where have business ethics gone? Certainly not towards EVO.

I am not familiar with this situation at all, but I would certainly recommend contacting the party that sold you the turbine directly to resolve the issue. I don't see why they would promise a new turbine, when the turbine internals can be easily replaced, but as I said, I was not part of your discussion.

I am sure your retailer or the factory will be able to answer your questions.

Chad,

I bought a brand new EVO 160 ,which failed due to rear bearing on the 16th minute of it's life.(Fire and damage to airframe and electronics)
I was told to send it back.
I sent it back.was confirmed that it was a faulty bearing
I was promised a brand new one to be sent on the week of June 21...
Had to call the local dealer 10+ times
On the 7th of July finally I recieved a package with a clearly 'very used' turbine with even the mount on it (striped directly from an airframe)

This is the situation,I am writing here because ;

-Ofcourse I am very p... off
-RCU is a platform where I get most information about our hobby, find every bit of information here very valuable .Therefore I do strongly believe I have to share my experience.

And yes I am trying to reach the local dealer, today I have sent him the package and asked for a full refund which I believe is very fair under the circumstances.

Regards

Eray

I have had a couple of brand new Graupner G Booster 160s and straight out of the box one showed 51 starts and 2hrs run time!!! I questioned the manfacturers and they said something about a 'bug' in the software and factory testing etc [&:]

I have kept the e-mail for if I come to sell then engine and need to explain I've only added a few starts/hours myself!!!!

Mark

Hi Mark,

In my case it's not the ecu ,actually I did not even hook it up.After opening the box a very used turbine which I imagine was just stripped off a plane was there instead of a brand new one...

I'm not suprised. I got a different story every time I talked to Arno about the booster 90 spool time.
