I sent a ECU to Jetcat to be serviced. I sent it USPS (US mail) Well dumb ***** me didn't put insurance on it. "IT'S LOST".....
I have called every 800 number that the postal service has to offer wondering where my package is. Same reply "Don't No". I no it's my mistake for not insuring it. BUT,,,, I paid and trusted the mail service to deliver my package. I mean, that what they do to stay in business. Why take out insurance to make sure the job is done right???
I am a carpenter and builder. I do not sell my customers insurance to make sure I do the job right......... My customers TRUST me to do the job right.
Oh well,,, I had to vent on this.
Just don't do as I have done....... Next time I will take out the insurance and use a different shipper.

Sorry about you lost ECU , I sell a lot of items on ebay and use the USPS , of the hundreds of items shipped there was only one item lost. I refunded the customer and to my surprise the item was delivered about 4 months later. The customer was kind enough to send me payment for the item. I use priority mail about 95 % of the time because you can track the package . Hang in there your ECU might appear.

FedEx and UPS are better, but they are not perfect either. You must pay extra for insurance with them too. Sucks, but it is what it is.
Sorry for your loss.

Hi Horse......
I no your right about adding the insurance, What I don't understand is.. I paid USPS $8 to lose my package.
This does PI$$ me off. As I said earlier, You MUST pay more to get the job done right. This is not right. I payed and trusted someone to deliever my package. This should NOT be a gamble......
AGAIN.... just venting Ha Ha

Never Trust anyone or anything because everything is subject to change.
“I love you.†Means nothing when someone decides they don’t.
“Contracts†Mean nothing when someone decides to make them null and void.
“Pay scales†Mean nothing when someone decides to delete or change them.
“Insurance†Means nothing when a company decides they don’t want to pay it.
Over the years, I’ve learned the hard way, that unfortunately much of what my father used to preach to us as kids, has turned out to be true. He would say, “ The only two things you have to do is pay taxes and die.†Now he’s gone and I’m still paying taxes. One day I mentioned that phrase to an attorney I know and he said, “Actually he forgot something, child support, maybe it was because when we were kids, he never had to pay it because our dad was always there.â€

A friend of mine used to always say, “Don’t ever fly somebody’s plane unless you are prepared to pay for it if something goes wrong.†This happened one day when we were all out at the field and I was passed the transmitter and shortly thereafter the plane went in because the guy had forgot to charge his battery fully. “I was only expecting to do one flight till you guys showed up.†Is what he said. I paid him for the plane because I was the one flying when it went in.
So the best advice I can solicit, would be that nothing is permanent or guranteed even when or if someone says it is, and EVERYTHING can and will change over time therefore, consistency is the only thing that is consistent.
I urge patience at this point and trust that next time you will get insurance and a tracking number.
Hopefully, your ECU will show up.
Good Luck
Bryce

Sympathies.....the fact that all shipping companies offer insurance is a big clue. I watched packages/parcels being "unloaded" from a jet yesterday at a major international airport, goodness knows what was happening to the contents, the handlers were unloading them from the end of the conveyer at about half the speed they were coming down it so at least half of them were simply spilling off sideways onto the tarmac, then some got run over by a truck or two! It took at least a minute before someone had the gumption to switch off the conveyer belt...derrrrrrr. Very easy to see how a lot of stuff must go missing.

You are not on your own It took 4 months for the British postal service to pay out on an insured parcel that they had destoyed. It was only because I would not give up that they paid out. On another occasion I sent two top end rx's back under warranty to a well known manufacturer. They both had intermittent lockouts while doing set up in the model. I made the mistake of discussing this with them by phone and then sending them back for replacement uninsured. You've guessed it, they never arrived, scratch £200. I never bought any more of their equipment and switched to another manufacturer. Ron

Hello,
did you sent it to JetCat in Germany? If yes it`s possible that your parcel is in the customs.
Last year I have ordered a cockpit from Camlex USA for my JL L39. If I looked to the internet for the parcel-no on the US Post internet page I should have got the parcel already - but I didnt`t.
Two weeks later I got a letter from the customs that they have had a parcel for me from the USA.
Best regards,
Karsten
