Default RAM500, different pump, help

Anyone, i have a Ram 500 with a new Flightworks 200 pump and a new ECU from Bob (Ro3B),my problem is after ramping i start to throttle up and about 1/2 throttle the engine coughs and shuts down with a cloud of smoke. Does anybody have an idea what i can do???

Thanks Pat

Yes ...search RCU threads for the information you are looking for

Actually there was just a resent thread with almost the same title as yours and it is quite interesting....

Was the engine runing ok before the upgrade?. Some time the new pumps will push more fuel than the old pump causing the engine to flame out.

(Simple test) try throttling the engine slowly to full power with in 10sec. If it runs then Its a electronic ajustment,, If it flame out then (COULD BE) Some block injector.

I would guess its your injector then (IM GUESSING NOW) As RCISFUN says there is a lot of information here like this one showing a block injector before and after .

Pat,

I agree with basimpsn that you have a blocked (dirty) injector. Mine acted the same way until they were cleaned.

Just my guess from my prior experience.

Well,,, normally you would have to go deeper. But if you are getting 156k thats good [sm=thumbs_up.gif]. Remember to check the tail cone screws every now & then.

Good Job

Like pull the fuel ring and clean it in an ultrasonic cleaner, then do the flame test
