Visiting Joinville

Well, last weekend some friends and I visited Joinville, a city in Brazil distant 130 km from Curitiba. This city was founded by German imigrants and it is a very nice place to go. This particular r/c club (Aerocircus) was built in a very nice place, and it is impecably maintained and developed by one of his members, wich is also a turbine jet flyer as well as his son.
I flew the Blue Angel 1 there and re-maidened the Viperjet of a friend of mine.. (after a terror maiden at our own club, as the turbine had a flameout) fortunately this time all went well and we all had a extraordinary weekend among our Joinville friends.. hope you guys enjoy the pics!

Nelson (left) and I saw this Raptor flying in Metropolis, Illimois more than a decade ago.. Manoel (right) is the current owner and it is still going strong.. second pic is the right side of the runway.. runway lenght is about 300 meters. with some 100 extra meters of runaway grass for each heading.

the Viperjet! this plane almost make me had a cardiac arrest last weekend. My friend was flying it in the maiden when the engine flamed out, well away and heading to the sun when he decided to throw me the radio for me to see if I could bring it back, LOL. Fortunately the plane survived and with some care of mr.Patake the plane was ready to fly this week and everybody went home very happy.

forget about those are expensive toys or how much the house cost.. the truth about considering ourselves lucky is spending a evening with long time friends sharing things we like.

Indeed, this place is one the nicest r/c clubs I ever seen.. also worth noticing that our club in Curitiba is 3000 feet ASL and this one is at sea level. That makes a huge difference on how the jet handles.. my impression is that the airplane is flying in water instead of air wich makes things safer and easier..
even the plane noticed the difference, as I needed to change the aleiron gyro gain as it "hunted" in one part of the flight.. (my setup allows inflight adjustments).
