Looking for Yellow F-18 Twin Kit
Thought I'd check to see if anyone has a new unstarted kit of the newest version sitting in a box somewhere they don't want?
Yellow is out until Oct. or Nov.
Don't need any turbine acc. , mine will be electric ducted fan
Thanks Ron

Last I checked, purchasing a kit doesn't include the rights to manufacture it as well. Which is exactly what you would be doing even if it was for just your benefit. Why not quit mooching off of everyone elses hard work and put the time and effort into designing, building, molding, building and testing your own product. Maybe then you would have more respect for those who do and provide all of their hardwork for such insignificant prices, and not just another leech of this hobby, like so many others.

So, aside from typing in all caps, you also mold other people's proprietary work.
One yells out ''thief'', the other just yells. Guess which is which.

IMO, we should not reward this troll's blatant and repeated attempts to get attention. Ignore him from now on and deny him the attention he is so desperate for.

Hey Ron,
Congrats on your new aquisition. I plan to finish mine this winter. Have you decided on fans? If you need the area of the intakes. let me know. I have them for the ducting as is and with the retangular section removed.

It's really just drawing on your knowledge of how to type the English language. Coming as close to how we are used to reading text, such as in newspapers and magazines, makes it so much better for all of us.
That, and proper punctuation usage of course, which I see you are very challenged with. ALL CAPS ARE DIFFICULT TO READ AND VERY ANNOYING! Just DON"T DO IT PERIOD...unless you are emphasizing a particular part of your post.
And don't splash other peoples property, unless it's just a nose cone or wingtip, etc. for a minimal repair.
Capiche?

Yours if going to be awesome, now I don't have your super human building skills so mine will be a stand way off scale
The plan as of today is twin DS-94 HST's + 2x 14s 35c 6500 mah slapped right in the stock crappy inlet I know it's kind of nutty but I think it will kick some butt.. I grabbed the overall weight and intake area off your build and put it in a folder.
I also have a 1/6 scale EDF version of the Jet Legend Hawk on order with a DS-94 HST on order to be my trainer to the F-18 and get used to this fan while I'm building the F-18. I figure the navy uses the T-45 for a trainer to the F-18 so the Hawk should be great... I've never flown this big of a jet and want stick time with something big before the F-18.
I'm going to do somethings that others my find silly to save weight. Mine will be Blue Angels so I'm just going to Monokote the wings, stab and rudder... run the stock foam wheels. I light weight cockpit and pilot, I will do the airbrake but no other details on a quest to be under 40 pounds ready to fly. At the worst even if the plane comes out at 40 loaded and even if the fan only gives me 6000 watts per side with 12000 watts I'll have 300 watts per pound. Daniel said he is getting 18.8 pounds installed thrust in his F-20 with no ducting. If it works out that well for me I could have close to 37 pounds thrust with a 40 pound plane.... the numbers make sence to me. Adding up the parts from your build 38 pounds ready to fly looks do able that could give me close to one to one performance.
This is my dream plane.. so even if it's not a rocket ship I'll be super happy just to have said I've flown one.
I'm a huge fan of the blues so this is going to be so much fun! Plus I can knock the dust off these poor 1/6 scale pilots I've had on a shelf for years and get them is some planes..
I'll be watching for updates on your build this winter..

Ron,
I think mid 30's should be no problem. The last big hornet i built came in at 54.8lbs with 200oz of jet-A on board and twin turbines. And it was the older polyester glass fuselage and had some classic giant scale servo's (ya know, the big 1/4 scale ones that weight about a pound each) for the stabs. 35-36lbs should be no problem at all IMO, even if you were to paint it.
