Chris, Congratulations on a successful maiden. Your efforts really have paid off. Steve you stayed the course and the Tazor went from a dream to reality. I'm really looking forward to seeing the model in person next month at E-Jets.
David glad you could step in and help these two gents.

Unfortunatly the original was written off in Arizona last year due to a radio glitch and the full range of testing had to stop until the new ''All improved'' version arrived.

That Tazor was by far one of the funnest jets that i have flown.
Cheers,

The original is alive and well and fully repaired by Rainer in Austria where it is flown regularly and flys as well as it ever did. Seen a few pictures of the model flying but Rainer and I have sort of moved on and we dont speak regularly.

Did you guys work with Carf ? Maybe you buy 10 of the Sparks then cut them up, thus paying them? like the guys that make the Rapter buy Kowawski ZX 11s. Or are you paying royalties for the unique design of Spark that you "borrowed". It's not an F-16, an F-14, Viper or even a BAE Hawk of which there are xx on the market today. Those are real jets and all models of these actual jets have striking similarities based on the fact that they are representations of real world products we admire. The Spark, on the other hand, is a model sport jet made for rc, unique in that respect (like the Pyranha and so on). No one is going to want to spend the time and money to develop a unique product if all they have to look forward to is copies of their popular works. That will really hurt everyone who looks forward to flying something new and different.
In the music industry you pay a royality if you use part of a writer's song or music in your song or music. I'm sure that a noted writer like Steve Haynes is familiar with the concepts of plagiarism, citing your source, copywright infringement, and royalities; thus, is doing everything above board. After all, it would reflect on the magozine, RCJI, that he writes for, if he was not being fair to a jet manufacturer's work, like Carf, in this case.

Now go away and behave, dont make me embaress you by posting pictures of our CAD work, plugs and moulds.
There is not a single dimension that the two models share.

Ducted Fann?
I have had close association with both models and you could not be further from the truth, they are completely different.

Morris being Morris, nothing new.
He wont take the time to respond to folks he sold product to but didn't actually have so he enters threads and tries to 'flame' folks who have responded in these other threads concerning his typical business practices. Have a look...
Morris's first post in this thread admires the look and design of the Tazor and he recognizes Steve's abilities.... All very nice...
"Steve, and Chris the work on the Spark/Tazor looks great. Steve I see your journalistic integrity has carryed over into your model making."
Steve being familiar w/ Morris's practices makes a post yesterday in a thread in RC Groups http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1290150 where someone bought product and can't get a response from Morris for two weeks...
Morris then has time to try and 'flame' Steve here this morning because of Steve's post in the other thread yesterday. Too bad there's no time left over to handle a customer's concerns.

Steve/Chris,
Great job on the Tazor. It's was cool watching this go from a concept drawing to a fully marketable kit. Good job guys. Unfortnately, I won't be able to make it to the Ohio EJets this year so I won't get to see it fly, but I am planning to goto the Oakdale EJet flyin so maybe I'll get to see it there.

I think that if Morris Brady of DuctedFans were such a huge advocate for CARF that he would personally put up his OWN money to support a copywrite infringement action.
YGBSM,,,,,,,,,clearly Morris has not followed the Tazor since its inception which has been well documented public record on RCG's.
Morris.....you are not even qualified to inspect/comment on navel lint........now go out and play in traffic on I-77.
(see you at your booth at E-Jets?)

I just found out I won't be able to get the time off of work to attend the Oakdale EJets. Maybe I'll see you at Arizona.

A final message for Morris of Ducted Fans.com
1) I no longer have any financial connection or investement in the Tazor other than emotional and historical.
2) Not one single dimension of the Tazor has ANY element that is similar to the Spark.
3) Your comments about the Tazor being a copy of anything are highly insulting to the person Ranier Holzmann who did actually design the Tazor.
4) There is ample evidence of its design pedigree in publications and on the web.

This thread was temporarily removed to a holding area last night by me while I consulted over post 29.
The thread has been returned to the forum with no deletions or edits.
Can I take this opportunity to remind everyone concerned of our rules re posting and the necessity of disclosing in full any commercial affiliation in your sig. line.
Post 29 put forward a point of view. Other later posts put forward alternative views. Ladies and gentleman this is what RCU is about.
I will be monitoring this thread closely for the next day or so.

Oh dear, I have just designed a new airframe, its got a fus, a wing, tail and fin, do I need to pay royalties to someone? Wilber Wright's flyer did not have an enclosed fus so it can't be him.

Almost my last post to Steve Haynes aka Whistling Watts RC Jet International.
1.I said "if" and "then"... Dealers and manufacturors pay to advertise in RCJI and should expect some respect from people who have influential power not to disconnect them from selling their wares. If you measure a popular jet like, let's say just for the sake of argument, the Spark and then recreate it in part, cut off the tail and replace it with booms let's say. But yet the parts that stand still fit like let's say the canopy, split wing section (edit the booms then... * The photos supplied can be overlaid on the Spark frame frontal section and the wing. If this was or is the case you should have already paid, pay a portion of profits, and / or at least acknowledge your source (this is about the model not a hot news tip).
2. As a writer for Rc Jet International in the High Powered EDF section, you should have devuldged your source and involvement in a project and or model that you plan to sell, if only for the fact that you have done an article on that same model. It really hurts your integrity as a writer and relfects on the publications who would use your articles when the public has to wonder how you got paid to write an article about a product in an international magazine and later announce your involvement with the production and profits of said jet.
3. If you, Steve Haynes, feel that your opion is to be held separate from your persona as Whistling Watts, then why delete your posts after you have posted little HA HA HA comments, and then asked the troops to go read them before you edited them (as if when you told them to go read them you couldn't have told them your thoughts at that time) only to replace said postings with Morris isn't nice or whatever. Let your posts stand, own them. Many may see your posting as I do, like a child sticking his tongue out behind an adult's back after being scolded. Self proclaimed "EDF blowhard..."
4. RCJI is good source of information much like the fourms, and It seems that you don't respect the opportunity that you have been entrusted with by being a writer for the magazine, RCJI. The readers (outside of your clique) of this and other publications deserve better.
