They are great turbines but mine needed and still needs tweaking out of the box.  Big flame out the back when starting, others have had the same issue.  I dont think its a turbine problem but just settings in the ECU.  Being my  first turbine it made that aspect both harder but great learning value.</p>

We have a K80 in a 120falcon. The only flame outs were due to fuel tank plumbing issues.

start ups? no problems at all.

Hi,

One thing I can add is that on a 170 I was flying at Kentucky (in my F-15), the engine did something I'd never seen or heard before. When I'd run through my fuel, the engine started to burp and cough as bubbles went through it. The noise was so loud as I flew by, I thought my pipe had collapsed or something. I got her down and while I was taxiing back, you could clearly see the stream of bubbles going into the engine which continued to run until it was more air than fuel. Plenty of eyewitnesses, too. Every other engine I've owned would have shut down on bubble #1 at full throttle.

Sounds like a winner

I have highly recommend Kingtech. I've been using mine now for two years without hardly an issue (K-80 and K-170). The only issue I've ever had was with a Deans connector which caused a flamout (no power to ECU). Found the issue changed to a Multiplex, problem fixed. I would recommend changing all Deans connectors to Multiplex type for any turbines. Both Jet Central and JetCat use them.

I have flown Jet Central and Jet Cat. (4 Rino's, P-60, P-70s, p-160sx). These are good engines but for the money you just can't beat Kingtech. Rock solid reliable engines, great power band, great throttle response, great service. Right now I'm needing a 45lb+ class turbine for my CARF A4. If Kingtech would come out with theirs I would buy one today. Looks like I'm going to have to get a P-200 though because I need one like now.
