Take Care...Notice in the installation thatone receiver antennae is near the intake. During the range check, this antennae was touching the intake. After four holds, I realized the air rushing in was probably causing some static build up.We putsome short tubing on the antannae and the rangecheck was successful. If anyone chooses to locate your receiverin this area, make sure to stabalize the antennae. 1/4 inchof the antennae extends past the tubing.

Looks like everyone had a great time yesterday, sorry I missed it. Glad the A-7 maiden as well as the others were a success.

Congratulations !
..it would be a good idea to reduce the gap between the bell mouth and the turbine as is too big.

DelGatoGrande'

Your observation is noted. . .however, tests with our Rhino prove the best cooling of pipe, air frame and the added thrust are realized when the end of the nozzles is between 1.25 and 1.50 inches spacing from entrance to the pipe. This is most definitely been tested and works. The reason is, the pressure area at the entrance to the pipe is enhanced when set up this way. Many of our customers who previously complained of "hot" fuselage after flight, could not believe the difference when set up this way. We include within our manual, a chart of measurements for each of our turbines. Maximum/minimum ID pipe size is noted as well.

Readers. . .please check with your specific turbine manufacturer as to their acceptable turbine/pipe set up measurements.

Thank you,
Eric Clapp

More flights Saturday. One thing I did was land with flaps. Instructions say not to, but from practice runsata few hundred feet I had no problems, so lets do it! The A-7 is a breeze to land with flaps. Landing position flaps were deployed on the downwind, all the way to the centerline just like a trainer. The A-7 was smooth as silk all the way around. Wind direction was slight cross blowing out (8mph). With a Rhino, it tough to slow down, therefore the use of flaps for me is very necessary. Nextsession I'll use flaps for takeoff. Takeoff roll is about 400ft; flaps should help that considerably.

Will get a video next time out...had no one to shoot for me. The first video shot by a spectator was so out of focus I chose not to post it.

Lewis, what degree takeoff flaps are you using? Have 6 flights on my fej A-7 and it also flys like a trainer but haven't used any flaps for takeoff or landing. Like you stated it flys great and slows down real well for landing.

Made a post a few week ago on my "Jets Over Kentucky Week" thread a few two weeks ago, but wanted to follow up on the build thread of the A-7...

Video...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...;v=tPdRnqRc4xQ

Had the pleasure of flying the new A-7 Cosair a few weeks ago. This aircraft is the replacement for the Tiger scheme A-7 that was lost due to a mid-air collision at Jets Over Kentucky last year. What a great airplane!Takeoff was very predictable and stable, and the entire flight was AWESOME! This was the most uneventful maidenever for me! The old A-7(midair victim) was a good one, but this one is truly exceptional. Leading edge slats make for a slow and stable landing.I'm also using two JR 370Agyros on this model. Ailerons and rudder were truly locked, and did not waver in the 18 to 20 knot winds thatI had today. I took a picture of the wind sock and began to wonder if I should wait!!!!! Temptation was too great, and away she went.I however chose not to fly again for the windwas constantly picking up. Keith "Jet Jockey did the taping on my camera, and Buck showed up with his equipment. Make sure to click on the link to see Buck's great work on the video! Here are a few picturesbefore the flight. Many thanks to Fly Eagle Jets for such a fine airplane. Thanks also to Scott Marr and the Jets Over Kentuckypilots for making this happen. I hope Scott has his new plane ready to fly. Thanks to everyone formaking this a very specialday.

Made a second flight this past weekend, and all still went very well. I put the aircraft through point rolls, slow rolls, loops, and a big humpty bump...what an airplane!!!The A-7 will make it's first appearance at theFirst In Flight Jet Rally in Wilson, NC. in just a few weeks.

Hey lewis, I don't suppose you have any pics of the leading edge slat design? My 14 has them and I am curious how they designed them next mine.
