Hello J10’ers
I’m making slow but steady progress on my J10. So far no major issues ( other than a few missing plywood parts). There are a few J10’s at our field and the owners state that their gear mounts had to be reinforced. (I’m assuming they meant the mains). Looking at mine, it is constructed of a 5+ ply plywood and then carbon laminated. It’s blind nuts are attached in the usual manner. I can’t imagine this easily failing. I noticed the nose gear laminate is only a 3 ply sandwich. Sooooo....the question is....do I need to apply another layer of carbon? Thoughts please. TIA Rbt in Milwaukee |
I never had the need to reinforce any of my other Jets landing gear plates....they seem pretty sturdy to me.....so I’m not going too in this one, I will however laminate a 2” carbon Strip on all the seams....I received the rod’s un-damage from Ray, but they are too short, must had different Vector servo’s location.....should have all my order this week....I want to finished doing the mockup of some stuff....then I need to paint this ;)

Thanks for the reply. I just checked my vector rods ( which are 2 pieces) for a total length of 59”. All is good. This probably doesn’t help but my servo cutout starts at 3”. I also noted my J10 was manufactured Dec 2018.😳.
I think mine was older :( I wasn’t told about the fact that it was an older kit..... That had been order from another fellow from Dubai...not sure what happen to him....anyway I was asking for a white one......It was almost a complete kit, in the end it doesn’t matter just a pain to source the intended size.... I assume you got the Electron set? Did your gear bolt in fine? |
Don’t feel bad, I wasn’t told my Display scheme was an older kit! If I would of known that I would of gone with the current Splinter scheme.
I test fit the Electron / Carbon main gear set and yes, the bolt pattern matches up,...... no additional screwing around. Vector rods are next on the to do list. Rbt in Mke

Hello J10’ers
I am about to mount my KT210 and have a quick question. The manual does not state an incidence angle. Should the motor be parallel to the wings root ... or??? Thoughts please. TIA Rbt |

Go to the CARF website and download the Mephisto manual. They have settings for the gyro in the back, (cortex pro) and start with those settings. I am flying mine with those settings and they are ballpark ok for me.

You mean for the iGyro3e......??
|
Gyro settings
No,
I mean the Cortex Pro. Look at the MEPHISTO manual, not the J10 manual . I used the vector nozzle settings from the Mephisto manual . Bob Neal |

Well I’m pretty much done, minus gluing the battery’s tray and canopy (after painting) I put it on the scale all assemble and I’m about 12kg with the uat simulated full...(lead) pretty happy with that....so I took it apart and will start getting the parts ready for paint...with no joint lines anywhere....so that will take a while LOL 😂

Nice; hope maiden goes well.
The J-10 has such a beautiful / sensuous shape. Art in motion - and they fly extremely well especially in hi-alpha. Going though a bit of withdrawal at the moment not being able to get out and fly mine... |
