E'Sport scale Conversion FINISHED!!

1 Attachment(s)
Guys,

Not an overly interested post but thought I'd share it with those who may be thinking of doing the same thing.

Had a bright red EuroSport to start with, rubbed it back with some 3M fine foam pads (equivalent to about p6/800), shot some Lesonal 1k primer filler from an aerosol ([X(]) then rubbed it back with some extrafine 3M foam sanding pads (about p800/1000).

Next I applied some computer cut vinyl to act as panels/leading edge slats. Rubbed these back slightly and shot them with some Lesonal plastic primer.

So, now I'm ready for some colour and I still have decided 100% on a scheme!!

Rgds,
Mark

Mark,

I'm doing the same but started with a grey one!
Would it be possible to buy you a set of computer cut vinil for the wings and fin?

Cheers
Florent

Looking good Mark,
Do you plan yo just paint over the vinyl or use them as masks?
Todd

RE: EuroSport scale conversion so far.....

Todd,

Just going to spray over them. Not going for Top Gun finish or technique just semi-scale. It's the same technique used by Ralf Schneider in JetPower.

Florent (& anyone else),

Send me you e-mail address and I'll send you the CorelDraw file that the vinyl was cut from. You should then be able to get a sign shop to cut it for you.

Rgds,
Mark

RE: EuroSport scale conversion so far.....

John,

Good luck - I don't think you'll find anything other than gray!! There is an all black scheme too.

That's why I'm resorting to a semi-scale scheme - kinda taking the bits from various schemes I like and putting them together as best I can!

If you do find anything then PLEASE let me know!! I'm a day or two away from the first coat of paint so hurry! :D

Mark

Hey Mark

Thanks for the file. But when I open the file I get nothing. I am using Paint Shop Pro to open it.

Kim,

It's a CorelDraw file so unfortunately you'll need Corel Draw to open it.

Anybody know of any other applications that open CorelDraw (.cdr) files?? I THINK Adobe llustrator does?

WW,

Ah ha, you own the EuroSport I was trying to hunt down the other day!!!

Please can you tell me which missiles/bombs/pylons you used and post any more photos you have of them??? Todd thinks the YA F-18 bombs etc will fit - is that what you used?

I was going to do that tiger scheme (based on the F-16 scheme I found) but seeing as this will be my first paint job I didn't think I'd have the ability to pull that one off!

Mark

Dave,

File should be sitting in your inbox :)

Your ES looks great already - the thought of "redoing" it wouldn't enter my head if mine looked like that!!

Have you got any idea where the bombs/pylons/tanks etc were from on the orange ES in post 13??

Ralle,

That tiger scheme is excellent but not as excellent as that flying site!! Where is it!!!

I have had to go for a simple colour scheme as this is my first paint job. The one I have chosen is below.

I hope that the rivets/screw details and your decals will make it look more interesting!

Mark

The Drops are from an A/D Rafale
The small Sidewinder missles came off an Avonds F15 that Dave Fusanoto built(Tigermeet)
The large Sidewinders are 1/7th scale from Yellow. As far as the pylons, They also came off the F15. I think they were scratch built for it.

More hardpoint pics
Keep in mind that as easy as the ES ids to fly that all this junk hanging far aft of the CG will make it considerably AFT CG and consequently divergent in pitch. (Just a disclaimer) Mine has light ply pads with blind nuts Aeropoxied in the wing for hardpoints. I think the ordinance from my A10 project would hang really cool under the EF2000. See Hog 101 thread.
