Alex, Jaime ( James No Fly), Marcos. Also Giuseppe (President of the Chapu Team), and of course Don Waldo Pons ( Master Joda ;))
To Andy....the best German Test Pilot [sm=thumbup.gif]
Finally, an special thanks to Tam....for consider me as a friend, instead of just a customer.[sm=thumbup.gif]...;)

Miguel you are going to make me cry..............hehehehe.

Seriously, last Sunday was a day to remember at Hobbyland. Miguels's maiden came very close to being cancelled, but thankfully we all came though for him when he needed us. At the end two very succesful flights are now in Miguel's flight log.

Regards

Alex

Miguel, I haven't been around much lately (work), but good to see you back in the saddle with the new version, CONGRATS!!

You got me thinking about another one now. Great job on the thread and for sharing some ideas. It's always good to build on each others ideas, trials, and successes.

Thanks again and I know you'll enjoy the new ViperJet. If I have any questions, you can bet I'll be asking you.

George

RE: THE RETURN OF THE VIPERJET

Sorry to announce that I lost my Viperjet on last November [:o]....
Is not easy to loose a plane after all the time and dedication in putting it together, and even worth, if the crash was due a pilot error, like it was my case [:@].
I guess I took to much time !QUOT!building the perfect plane!QUOT! with all these mods I made....sacrificing stick time in exchange
Anyway, it's been a while after that, at least to jump in here to tell you about it....this is part of this hobby....and guess what? VIPER III IS COMING :D....with the difference that my friends are not going to let me fly it until I recover some stick time and spend less time at the shop.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Miguel[:o]
I know you spent a lot of time on that one... What happened?

Good to see that you are getting a new Viperjet. Get some stick time on a prop plane and you'll see the confidence comes back in no time:)

Keep it up my friend!

Hi Sap,
Well...during the landing pattern....the plane was flying slower than I thought (and also not having programed a throttle curve did not help me at all I guess) ...and stalled from about 100 feet, no time for recovery [:@]. It was 100% my fault...this plane was (is) excellent...and was flying like a dream with the P-120 at 29 pounds of trust....no tail flutter btw [:-], and the flybys at full power was (are) awesome ;).
As you said, I getting back to the basic (props) for a while til I feel confidence again. Right now my piloting self esteem is bellow sea level [&o]
Thank for stopping by and hope things are doing great up there for you.

Do not worry Miguel. As you said it's all about self esteem. You have the skills... Would be a lot worse if you had the confidence, but missed the skill;)
Get some quality stick time and the confidence will be back in a flash[sm=sunsmiley.gif]

Things are OK up here. Thanks for asking:)
Was planning on doing some flying this weekend, but a glance at the thermometer in the morning made me crawl right back to bed...[X(] -17 deg C [&:]

RE: THE RETURN OF THE VIPERJET

Miguel, sorry to hear about the loss. I can sympathize with your position, "been there, done that". A few years go I stepped back from turbines and started flying DF's again (Maverick and A-4) for about six months. It was the best thing I could have done. I was ready for turbines in terms of ability, but my attitude and perception of my skills were not aligned. BV took me aside and talked with me and made me realize this fact. Since my return, I have been very successful compared to my first year. We all have mishaps and make mistakes once in awhile, it's just a matter of the length of time between those events becomes longer and longer. I think it is wise for you to recognize the need to step back to hone your skills and prepare mentally. You will not be sorry you did and only good can come from it not to mention the your checkbook will appreciate it :D.

You can't go wrong taking the route you are proposing.

Good Luck,
George
