RE: New toy
A note on maintenance.
As you my have notice I installed a fod screen on the engine on Friday while doing this I noticed that the starter O ring was a bit worn out but didn't pay to much attention to it and I put it back in the same way it came out, on Monday while flying and getting on to the cooling stages of the engine I noticed that the starter O ring was slipping, Well, I called my Simjet Rep Mark and explained the work performed and the new problem, we both came to the conclusion that turning the O ring around would solve the new problem, so I disassemble the starter again and turned the O ring to the other side and reinstalled the starter and tested it by initiating a start sequence with out any propane, the starter worked just fine and we are ordering some new O rings to have as back ups. Also the right main gear was bend on the last landing just a bit so it has been decided to order new Robart main struts to replace the Model mechanics that came with the Roo, I have disassembled these struts and the quality is just poor and they are to soft, so out with them. Carlos: have you seen this leg units? they work great.... that is the same to me to say that a lot
of flights are accomplished without wasting time straightening struts. Best regards, Enrique (from www.behotec.de) |
