Hi Mark, we already have quite a few customers signed up for this engine when it is released. Felipe has been flying the engine for quite some time now, development flights have gone very well.

Flea specs are:Thrust 6 pounds, weight 12oz (340g), diameter 2.36 inch (60mm), length 5.37 inch (136mm), RPM 80,000-220,000

This gem of a turbine is planned for release later this year. The Flea has the same outstanding throttle response times as our other turbines. With average fuel consumption of only 2 oz. per minute gives flight times of 9 minutes plus gear pass, approach and landing with only 20oz of fuel on board.

The Flea will fly a 9 lb RTF model very nicely.

Thanks for your interest,

Rob.

Are there any decent ARF that can use it?

Mark:

My colleague in the UK has provided excellent information about our newest turbine. . .the "Flea."

The Flea on display at our vendor tent during Florida Jets caused quite a stir. It was the most photographed turbine there!

The Flea is currently flying and continued R and D tests are being conducted. Not wanting to release prior to all testing with results to our satisfaction will be the key to the Flea's success.

Autostart will not be available. This will be air start using one of the small hand held blowers such as the Makita or Black and Decker (Home Depot) rechargeable units. No need to drag around a big air tank.

We ([email protected]) jetArtes Gulf Coast currently have four sold with a total of 10 signed up and waiting release information.

Edgar:
This is a simple one. . .the EDF world offers many, many airframes which adapt nicely. We are currently flying an all Balsa Delta wing. Soon to become airborne is Hobby Lobby's L-59. Your choices are many. . .their respective costs are quite low compared to other ARF's.

Last, all North American orders will be processed through jetArtes Gulf Coast. To get on the list, please email me @ [email protected].

Best regards to all,

Thanks Eric, I'm looking forward to flying this engine, possibly in something like this Eliminator 90 edf. There must be I think lots of suitable edf airframes.

I was eyeing the Jet Hanger EDF F4D which was built for a 69mm fan.

Finally , a turbine small enough for that 100" 747. Can't wait till the R&D in finished.

How does this turbine differ from the Mw-44 and Simjet 700 other than it is airstart only ?

Sonnich, Looks like it is much smaller... therefore spins faster...

RE: Jet Central Flea??

It's about 4 onces lighter and 15 mm smaller in diameter.

nice.

So when its smaller, its cheaper right :):D

What is the estimated price of it here in Europe ?

Yes, it's an extreemly small/light engine. No estimate of price in Europe as yet but as with all Jet Central products it will be competitively priced.

After seeing this at FJ-06, I fell in love with it as well. I think this engine is perfect for any of the .45 size DF airframes out there as well as the newer EDF ones. I know that the entire JHh line would be a perfect fit for this as well as the JetMart USA Mig-15. I had one years ago with a K&B .45 / Turbax 1 and loved it. I actually have another kit sitting around and was going to do an EDF version but now.....;)

I think there is going to be a good market for this as long as the price is reasonable :D I can just see multiple engine airliners on the horizon..

This would be a fun turbine to put in the JHH EDF F-14 too.

What is the attraction to the engine with the already proven wren 44 on the market? USD? 4 oz and 2 pounds less thrust don't seem enough for me if I were getting into a turbine this size. JMO. Please educate me.

When will the turboprop version come out? I'm much more interested in turbo props than jets. :D
