James

If you make a small hole 1 5/16" up from the base of the fin (mid radius) and 8" from the trailing edge you can work from there, it needs a decent size slot and the cover plate fully covers it.

Dave, I saw that yesterday. It was on the CA site but then taken down. I liked the bottom. Do you have that photo?

Hi!

I like the bottom, but not the top :)

If you want the pics nice and big have a look at the C-arf spy-side :D http://www.composite-arf.co.uk/

Mark seems to be much quicker than MikeC at the factory...

I like these Flash Models keep the color schemes coming!

That is what I wanted to say! I might paint my top like that or like the bottom of the red checkers.
I am concerned about the quality of this model because I have not seen one inside and out.

Goekeli

I'm about mid-way through building my 'Blue Angels' Flash, just some tidying, engine and radio gear to go in.
Let me assure you, the quality is very good!! I've never been a huge fan of the building myself. But this has gone together very easily, so far.
A few faffs with the hardware pack up, but nothing the average jet modeller won't have in his drawer.
I'm very impressed by the Behotec/ Intairco gear too!

I'll post a more detailed summary on completion.

c-arf likes to play bank? pay 3 months ahead?
what about downpayments...
or does motors and rotors take down-payments?;)

Sandor,

C-ARF will take deposits from those customers keen to get a first kit/scheme that is due slighter further down the road if they so wish - some choose to do this, some don't. I did it for some of my Flash customers ;)

Mark

Good news for Europe and GB, it appears our Flash's are arriving in the next day or two. I have an e-mail and UPS tracking to say that mine is in Frankfurt and will be here in the UK on Friday. On the downside I'll be travelling to the Jetpower meet in Germany on Friday evening so I hope the kit arrives early so I can get a look at it and see what I need to pick up at the show.

A good weekend in store................

Hi folks,

Reading across this thread and watching the Sandor’s video, it seems to be a great flyer jet. Would you recommend this jet as a FIRST jet instead of a Rookie trainer jet …??

Thanks in advance for your comments…...!

as a NON rep for c-arf i must say i flew both of them.
for handling , slow speeds and looks go for a Flash.
for speed and weird trows go for a rookie.

Just got my flash ordered! However, i know there are more of them out there being built, just would like to see more pictures.

Sandor, i would like to see some pics of the completed install of the Jet 1A gear. I saw the pics earlier in the thread but would like to see some of the finished product!!

Also, i would like to know what JR servos you guys are using in the airplane? I plan on all 8611's but i was thinking that i read somewhere that they wouldn't fit in the stab. So, if that is the case, what servo did you use for the elevators?

Thanks in advance.....Sean

Gary Jefferson 09-26-2006 09:19 AM

RE: Comp ARF Flash update

Sean, I think you are correct that they will not fit in the stab. I used 8411's (which are the recommended stab servos) and it is tight, and the 8611's are slightly larger. Since the factory metal mounting brackets and hatch covers are all predrilled for the 8411's it probably makes sense to use them so you don't need to make any modifications to the mounting brackets. You won't have any problems with using 8611's on the flaps and ailerons, and probably the rudder, but since the mount is already installed for the rudder (and designed for the 8411) it will likely need to be enlarged slightly to fit the 8611 servo.

RE: Comp ARF Flash update

Gary,

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that the mounts were already predrilled...(i guess i should take a closer look at the instructions online!) I really hate all the gear slop that is inherant of the 8411's, i wonder if there is a better alternative?

Thanks again. Still would love to see more pics of the airplanes if anyone has them.

RE: Comp ARF Flash update

Sean,
Don't want to start an argument here but the 8411SA servos are rated the same as the 8411 ! They do have nylon gears that will not get that slop in them. You won't strip them while flying but hangar rash might! I quit using the 8411 for the slop you mention. I should get my FLASH in a couple weeks and I am using the 8411SA's in it! I have one on my Bobcat elevator now with over 40 flights on it and it has no slop in it still!! Just my experience!
