Here is the sewing part of the job.

All the reinforcements are in, and slots are cutted out with a solder-iron.
At the tip of the solder-iron, a surgical blade is strapped with copper wire from some electrical wires, to provide the heat from the solder.
This is to burn the cutted edges, and make sure no loose end for the furute.
All reinforcements are glued AND sewed.
Seams are double sewed to withstand long term use (as i hope I hope it gets a long life)..

1000 feet, 300 meters of sewing thread later, it is like this. It`s not finished yet, the two outer panels has no sewing at this point, just neoprene glue, wich is curing now. I guess 1300 feet, 400 meter will do it as the definate total.

Next is completing the sewing part, and then line attachment, wich is very critical.
Just a few milimeters failure here, will make the schute turn, no matter how precisely the calot itselves is made.
A correct made chute, is supposed to freeze instantly, once deployed..

21 x flyfishing-backing will do the job.
This line is very smoot, kevlarmade, to withstand knots and trouble if the chute-packing fails at some time.
Alle the lines will be connected to a fisher svirwl to prevent the lines to make trouble IF the chute turns in one direction now and then.

Rocket-Man says he will have a release system on his very big Starfighter.
To prevent the line to be burned off, I will use the UC-Control wire, 6 cordel 0,3 mm stailless wire, and this goes from the chute, to the very point of the release system.

25 hours till now, 70% done.
I surely hope he likes it.

Hope to be the at the maiden, Christian, but you are forgiven not to deploy it on the maiden...;)
I`ll do the tests for you with my car, as I use to.
All braking datas at the given speeds will also be well known to you.

It has a very high integrated flow, not equal to it`s size, but adjusted to the full size/model/mass issue.
That`s why i adjusted the slots to be 5 mm wider in this shute, than the full-size/ scale would have( 5,5 times larger margins at these slots)

This is the point to cheat this problem....
Better to have the correct size, than have a small mini type to do the same..?:eek:

I reconn the chute will not be open under 15 m/h.....

Turn, and cut it off in this turn....

Cant wait to get this chute in my Starfighter! The work you have done is awesome!!! Cant think of any one that have anything like this chute- it looks just like the real thing. Again, thank you very much for making this chute. It certainly takes the plane to the next level. Talk to you soon.

Hi John

Yes it is the F-104 Starfighter from Jetwelt in Germany. I like it too (thats why i bought it i guess) :-)
I will use a Jetcat P-200 for power and JR 8611A all the way. I just shipped eight of them back to Horizon though...

The price for the kit is 2190 Euros and the landing gear is 1790 Euros. There is no real manual on the kit, so you have to build it as you feel is correct. You get a cd with some pictures of some planes allready built. It is pretty much a ok kit to build. The landing gear looks rock solid. They have made some modifications to the plane , so it flyes like a dream. Mine isn`t finished yet, so this is something i have heard from a couple of German guys allready flying the plane.
