Has anyone seen the little beauty in action other than on the web site. Does anyone make any others this size?

Helo.

We are flying that turbine on styro Twin Jets. They seems to be reliable, low, low consumation. They are started with a hair dryer.

These birds are very fast and the sound is just like a whistle.

I have been flying a Lambert for about 12 momths now. It has about 80 flights and 9hrs run time on it.
They are awesome engines..fuel consumption is great, 8mins on 450 mls... gets the twin jet moving just fine.
Take off weight is 1300 grams with 1500 grams of thrust. I would buy another one tomorrow.
An ME262 with 2 Lamberts would be fun.

Hello Craig!!! Well that's too much, I love that a Foamy Jet Cool.... Craig was it difficult to set up? I have seen those 2 other Dudes flying their Foam Twin Jets as well, really nice.... Do you have some video clips Craig.... OK got to get back to work.

The Twinjet is easy to set up. I used a plax mouth wash bottle (500ml) for a fuel tank, HS85mg servos on the control surfaces, 2 cell 800mah lipo pack for the ECU.Sorry but I don't have any video.

Jamie,

I am currently having a BAE Hawk converted to Kolibri power. It is a great platform for the turbine. Lot's of room for tanks and equipment. Couple of pointers, use a 16oz main tank. The 12oz one I have in my Falcon 25 just doesn't give long enough run times. Everything else will be pretty straight forward.

Hi Nick,

I have three of these, autostart version. Absolutely happy with them and perfect service from Lambert Turbines. Do a search here on RCU, there are a few threads on the Kolibri.
There was a Kolibri Jet Meeting two weeks ago in Germany.

Yes, I am using teh Eflite BAE Hawk. Seems like a great platform.

hi there chad its good to here im not the only one that thinks it is a good platform just wondering what your plan was for the holes in the bottom of the plane do you plan to fill them in. or do you plan to leave them also how far are you with your build some pics to help would be great as this is my first build also can i purchase the kolibri from you how mutch to ship to australia if so thanks

I have thrust tube dimensions given to me by Martin Lambert, you are welcome to a copy if you want.
I have been flying a Lambert for about 2 years on a foam Twinjet...The engine has performed flawlessly in this time. I have taken it to a few jet meetings over the years as well. They are a great hassle free easy to transport engine/airframe combo for sunday flying.

My Lambert is engine #1 It was the first engine he ever made I I flew it at Jet Power in an Airworld EDF Cougar I think three years back. The first model had no U/C and used a dolly, it was smashed at JP when an attempted hand launch went very wrong! The second aeroplane has Spring Air 602 retracts, a 500cc tank and a thrut tube 11" long made by a guy in England. it's just a 40mm tube.
We have in England an ME 262 from AW with two T32's that we supplied and several other projects (mainly more Cougar's as mine)

It's a great engine.

Multiplex still produces them on request if you order them by the 25 pcs ;).
Try to buy one from Martin Lambert or one of his dealers, they convert it for you and also provide the conformal fuel tank.

There are still shops having stock, the blue ones are almost gone and next will be the last white ones...

The recent engines have clearly a lot more thrust than the first one(s)... We flew some five TwinJets at the Kolibri Jet meet... Mine is really fast... Will fly it at JetPower2009, most likely.

Yes, later ones are much more powerful than mine... 400g more thrust at least.
Still mine is enough for operation off grass

also is there anyone out there that is looking to get rid of there lambert kolibri let me know i wouldnt mind getting one second hand new is a bit pricy at the moment i would have to wait a few more months to get the lambert

Hey guy's it's amazing that I have not seen the lambert kolibri in the states,I'd really like to put one on my next TJ .Has anyone done extensive wing and fuselage modifications to there TJ or with such power deemed it not necessary.I've spent a lot of time modifying a prop version to get the most out of the airframe but I think this turbine would be the icing on the cake. Here's a few pic's of my soon to maiden prop version.

It's basically very simple to do.
There are NO reinforcements needed to the wing, I only covered the ailerons with one single layer of thin fiberglass+ epoxy resin to make them more rigid.
The parts needed (wood + fuel tank) are available from Lambert Turbines and his dealers !

Hi All

Here is some pics of my Twinjet, I have laminated carbon fibre to the underside of the elevons for stiffening(a definite must have), added rudders for the extra fun factor, used a plax bottle for the fuel tank(500ml). The plane is on 2.4 gig and I am running 2 x 800 mah lipos, one for ECU and one for radio. The fuel tank only has a felt clunk, no hoppertank/uat etc...The plane is set up to be as simple as possible so you can take it out on a Sunday with 5 litres of fuel, minimal ground support equipment and have a heap of fun ripping around the sky...And I do mean rip!!!!!

By the way servos are HS87MG on elevon and DS 385 on rudders. You can see by the pics she is well worn..around 90-100 flights of 7mins and the engine has not missed a beat, I am amazed how reliable this engine has been..well worth the money I paid for it.
