A twin Pulse Jet This was incredable to watch!!! No Throttle and a great deadstick from 500 ft. Don't know the name of the pilot but he was great. He had to walk all of two feet to pick up his model after the dead stick and no brakes!!

if nothing else that pulse jet impressed me the most of all. but i am not to thrilled with the attitudes of some of the jet guys. i do have to thank stratotanker and his father in law for all the help they gave me even though i didnt get to fly the f16. the cross wind made me chicken out on flying her. i will try to fly it at whidbey in a week or two. thanks, doug

Big H9 Sukhoi!
Looks like a neat event.
That twin pulsejet I believe is owned by Bruce Tharpe of BTE. |
Madras OR Fly in
I'm not the official spokesman for the event but I think it was great. Dave Kephart did a great job and it was an excellent place to fly!! I didn't detect any "attitudes" but it's always difficult when you have antique bipes and jets at the same event.
Good job Dave!!! Maybe three days next year? Galen |

I agree. Dave did a great job putting the Jet and Scale meet together. The new site is a dream compared with the old site. The food was definitely much better. Since this is the first time at the new site, there were some things that were not ideal. Dave didn't really expect such a large turnout, especially spectators. He is already working on plans for next year's meet with a larger parking area, crowd control and allowing RV parking at the site.
Personally I only got one flight on the AV8R because I was more concerned about my trailer and my wife, camping at the old flying site. Friday nite my generator quit unexpectedly due to a problem in the converter. The smell was like an electrical fire. So I may have been more preoccupied with that situation then with the meet itself. I was actually at the trailer when Bruce lit off the twin Dyna Jet and I thought I heard one ducted fan the whole meet. So if I was a bit stand-offish, I apologize. I usually have my nose into just about everything. Roy |

ok, here was the problem. i was the guy with the r/c skydiver. they were supposed to wait for a couple of minutes after the static display for me to drop the skydiver. as soon as i got to the flight line, there were allready 3 planes in the air. you guys just couldnt wait for me to do my thing. i guess you guys dont care about the little guy who is just getting started in jets because i dont have a turbine. i didnt feel very welcome at this event. i kinda felt like an outsider because i dont have alot of money or a turbine. i felt some of you guys were kinda snooty to me. as far as i am concerened thats not the way to treat a newcomer. very unprofesional and a good way to turn away a new guy. well i guess i will stick to flying my jet at my home feild and most of the turbine guys... well? i cant say here. i will give some thanks to stratotanker and his father in law, dean and charles hissom. you guys were pretty nice to me. sorry i am just venting my frustration. i wasted a lot of money on a bummer weekend.

Doug, sorry you didn't have a chance to fly your skydiver.I think is was just a lack of communication ,with all the pilots in the pits.I know that CD Dave ,had his hands full running it and he did put on a fine meet.A lay back meet with out a agenda, can be unorganized at times, but hang in there,we care !Good to see everybody.

R.C. Hackmaster,
Where is your home field ? Al Watson |
Madras OR Fly in
Dave has always put on a great event, low keyed, no politics, no favorites. A genuinley fun event. Sorry I couldn't make it, I had other commitments.
rc.hackmaster, with an attitude like yours, I think you should just go home, lock yourself in the closet, and never come out again, but don't blame others for your woes. |

Sounds like you jet guys got off easy. My wife called me a "scum sucking dirt bag" while John and I were doing our own flying in Montana. Sorry I missed out on the event, I have it marked down on the calender for next year.
See you guys at Whidbey! Justin Sands |

Looking for Moler Mender
Moler Mender,
You posted some information about a model of a B1-B bomber model. I have begun allot of research into making a large scale replica of this amazing bomber but I need more information. I was curious if you would be willing to help me with what you may know of the one you saw built and how to get a hold of the person who own the model. JFParker |
