Bvm Bob Cat Build thread!
Guys!
Since it takes me one years to make a proper build thread in English, then you can keep your benefits with pictures and a short text in english! The Americans who complain on Bvms prices! I can only say that "we" in Sweden pay 30% in tax on all models from the U.S.A and 600 dollar in shipping for (example) one Bob Cat from Orlando to Stockholm (Sweden). For me! It is about priorities!! Regards Lasse Palm Team Jet Sweden |

RE: Bvm Bob Cat Build thread!
Hi Lasse,
Here's a tip for you. When you do the cut outs for the main retracts, cut inside the pips on the fuselage, then dremel out to size. It's easy to make the hole too big if you go to the pips on the first cut. This is mentioned on the drawings but easy to miss. |

Thanks dude!

RE: Bvm Bob Cat Build thread!
Hi Lasse, it is super easy to do a full nose door as well, and it adds to the top speed (mine is pretty fast)
Don't cut out the nose gear clearance hole till you think about it! |

OK!
Thanks! Here is my friend Tommy Bäcklins nose doors installation. He looked at my UB, and did the same solution, but "I" have not the time for that`s door installation[:@] |

ORIGINAL: Lasse Palm The Americans who complain on Bvms prices! typically the complainers are the people who don't own a BVM jet, after owning one they typically stop complaining about the price :) |

I have a small problem with the canopy framework!
The blue color on the silver color is not the best solution! the blue color is not fixed. I think BVM must look at this color problem It was same problem with my King Cat canopy framework!! |

I bought my BC last July, but didn't get round to finishing it until the end of November. The instructions in the BVM kits are simply "The Best!" Like a good book, you get to the bottom of the page and cannot resist turning the page and doing a bit more! Often I would say to my wife "I'm just popping into the workshop for an hour" and would go out there at 8pm, then come in at 1 am! A thoroughly enjoyable build. What engine are you putting in yours? Do you intend to fly off grass? If so, I would highly recommend fitting trailing link legs such as the Jet 1A type. It does however prevent the main gear doors from fully closing, but does not seem to affect performance. I would also recommend using the "crow" set-up as detailed in the manual. It makes slow speed handling very controllable. Enjoy your build.....Look forward to seeing more pictures! |
RE: Bvm Bob Cat Build thread!
Worzey thanks!
I use a Jet Cat P-70 to my Bob Cat. And my intend is to fly on grass fields with Bvm pro links Regards Lasse Palm |

I too have a P-70 in mine..... Not the fastest Bobcat at the fly-ins, but good all round performance. Nice & light and with good throttle management, 10 minute flights on supplied tanks (I set my timer to 8.5 minutes then set up for landing) Regards Ian |

I am not sure about the 2.4 Rx placement, does anyone have a pictures on Futaba 2.4 GHz Rx installation in a Bvm Bob Cat Composite! Where is the receiver in the model? Regards Lasse Palm Team Jet Sweden |

RE: Bvm Bob Cat Build thread!
Nice work, I especially like the way the pro mark brings the model to life. I might try that with my new bobcat ( If I can keep it long enough ) Do you shoot clear over the entire airframe after applying the pro marks ?

Pics of a Bob Composite with FASST 2.4
The first pic is with a PCM RX but the FASST one goes in the same place (i.e. the standard RX location on the radio plate). The second 2 show you how I have installed the FASST RX. It's not very pretty and am I sure you will do better but it works. I have about 10 flights on mine with no issues. |
RE: Bvm Bob Cat Build thread!
Lasse, great idea how to make cockpit mirrors from old CD's.
Sicklick33, thanks for the radio tray layout, I'm just doing mine. First venture into Futaba FASST also. I will be using 6014 Rx so hopefully no matchboxes. Keep it coming Lasse...... I got mine when £1 = $2 last year. :D |
