Default Beginner Kit

Im a beginner to the nitro RC hobby. I just baught a Nitro 4- TEC, to learn how to drive one of them, and to bash around. I now want a MT to bash around the local BMX track. Iv also figured out that at some point ill have to build one of these things. Son on to my question. Is the Savage SS a good kit for beginners or should i just get a Savage 25, and learn to build on another kit.

Thanx

Do you want cheap and good, or spendy and good? do you want lots of extra parts to add to it? or just a basic RTR to go out and trash? If you want cheap and good, but with not much support, go with the Cen Fun Factor MT2. Its 300 bucks, and its one short come is the radio. So for about three fifty you can get an MT2 and new radio. then you still have some cash left over for spare parts or a few hop-ups. The savage is a good rig as well, just quite a bit more money, but it has lots of aftermarket support. Plus, as some people have said in the past. Kits are good if you know what you are doing. If you have doubts, learn on an RTR. Good luck.

It really doesnt matter if you buy a RTR or not. At some point in time, you will learn to build it. I would say to get the RTR 25, it comes with the 3 pin flywheel, the updated wheel hexes, the new fuel tank, and its RTR. Then again, you might not ever learn to build a savage. They really dont break. LMAO.
And for the love of god, could somebody buy that CEN cheerleader a savage, so we dont have to see every post polluted with information that was never mentioned in the first place.

Thanx for all ur answers, but actually my question was weather or not the Savage SS would be a good kit to learn how to build a Nitro car.

HPI says the experienced nitro model builder might take 20-30 hours to build a Savage SS. Does that sound like a beginners kit?

Do you have any experience building static models?

So it really depends on what you want to do. Do you want to learn about building a nitro or do you want to learn about driving and maintaining one?

I got the Savage 25 RTR. I build static models. Currently working on a Countach.

Your question implies that you think you could learn how to build nitro vehicles by building the SS. The savage SS would be a good kit to learn how to build "SAVAGES". You might be able to share some learned knowledge of diffs, and gear mesh, and shock builds, with other cars by building the SS. But dont go thinking you'll be some RC guru from building one kit. However, i dont think it would take 20-30 hours to build a savage.

Matt, Chill with all the crap about people polluting the forums with their opinions. If anyone is polluting its you. You continue to bash people in many of your posts, and there is no reason for it. Show a little maturity and respect other peoples views. He asked if the savage SS was a good kit for a beginner or if he should get the savage 25. Well, since he is a beginner, why not get a little cheaper truck that is very easy to work on. has an awesome reputation in reliability. and runs with the big dogs right out of the box? If you continue on your rampage, putting everyone down, and in general being a pain in the butt. I will report you to the forum moderators and make sure you do not post on here for some time. You have now insulted me directly three times. and who knows how many other people. I hope that you can gain some sense and quit being so rude.
