Default New to Nitro, Mt2 with gear problems

Hey,
I am newbie and I purchased a Cen MT2. I broke the engine in as per the instructions. I ran at least a quart of fuel up and down my street. No problems. I got talked into trying a local dirt track. After a few runs, I heard a terrible noise. Form what I have read, it was the two 2-speed gears. They are red on the MT2. The teeth were a mess. Is this type of thing covered under the warranty? I am not to thrilled about taking it apart to replace them. How difficult will this be? How do I keep it from happening again?

Thanks for any help,
Jeff

it shoudnt be too difficult to replace the gears. they dont cost that much either. i have heard that if you want to get into nitro, then you have to get used to replacing gears. but what do i know. i havent run my first truck yet. just trying to help...

blackdevildog.... to replace the gears you will need a snap ring plier and regular hobby tools... Take your time to make sure the gear mesh is correct, this is most likely the reason for the failure in the first place...you want to place paper between the gears to ensure the correct mesh...make sure your engine mounts are tight also... use locktite... enjoy... let us know how you make out...I ran my mt2 yesterday and everything worked great... I even jumped it off an 8 foot jump and landed on its lid... other than a broken body mount... truck drove away....... Love the mt2
