Broke my TNX need help please.
I just crashed my TNX and broke the tie rod. I actually broke the metal tie rod flush with the plastic knuckle. If any of you guys know where I might be able to get these parts please let me know.
Thanks

RE: Broke my TNX need help please.
I looked up the part # in my manual and it says that it is a MD4. I cant find anything like that for the TNX on Tower Hobbies. The manual calls it an adjustment rod. The rod is 72.5mm from the begining of the threads on each side. So what I am trying to say is that it is 72.5mm long not including the threaded ends. Thanks in advance for any help.

That is kind of hard to do as the rod that broke is bent and the threaded part that is at the end is broken off in the knuckle and I have not found away to get it out yet. Thanks for all of your help though.

sell it, and get a savage
sell it, and get a savage
was it necessary to post that?
Anyway, check the place by the bay for the parts you need, they are usually really cheap there, and are stock replacements (you know they fit)

RE: Broke my TNX need help please.
uprvr - Thanks for the advice but I will pass.
I appreciate all of the help from all of you other guys but still no luck except for ebay. I did find them on ebay.
I would just like to give you my opinion of the TNX. I have bashed this truck hard since the day that I got it. I have let three young kids drive it. All under the age of 8 and multiple buddies of mine who have never driven an R/C at all. This is the only componemt to give me any trouble or break and it was totally my own fault. I had the truck in a full speed power slide on some grass and I just over corrected for my slide and by the time I got in the brakes.....and let me say this, this machine has some very good brakes, it was to late and I took a direct hit on the left front tire. It bent and broke the tie rod. If this truck can take that kind of hit and only brake a $6.00 part, then I beleive that this truck can take a lot of punishment. I am not trying to shoot my mouth off about the TNX just because I got one but I did a lot of research on MTs before I bought the TNX and I felt that for the price the TNX was very suitable for my needs. I just hate when some one spouts off about what they think and no one asked for it.
Anyways thanks for all the help with my problem.

dont get me wrong, I love my savage, but the amount of time and money needed to make it race ready is stupid.

Wow, you must have hit something pretty damn hard to break that tie rod. I have hurt curbs pretty hard before and it usually just unsnaps. I live in So Cal so I can easily go to Tamiya to get replacement parts. They have a good website and it's very easy to find the parts you need and order them directly. They are awesome. www.tamiyausa.com You might find something on ebay too, but your best bet is Tamiya directly. I would stock up on other things that break while you're ordering.
