Hey whats up guys, ive been having some engine problems with my revo. I was messing with the low speed needle trying to get my revo to do the wheelies. While adjusting it my temp when up to 300, i stopped quickly. I let it cool, then tried turning it on again. Didnt want to start, i set the low needle back to default and the high speed needle back to default as well. Still nothing, i took out the glow plug and saw a bunch of dark fluid in there, i cleaned it out completely and yet nothing. Checked again and there was dark fluid again. I cleaned it out, and atleast it started, but now it keeps shutting off every 5seconds. I looked at the fuel line and it looks like nothing is moving, i have no idea what to do guys. ANY SUGGESTIONS????? PLEASE HELP

Factory settings are usually rich. I would lean it out a little and try it. Seems like you have alot of excess oil in it (too rich). It will cut off on you if it is too rich also. (which it sounds like is happening)

my friends revo has been having this same problems trying to lean it out and richen it, that black fluid has now spread all over his chassis which he has to clean it 3 times a week. It might be something w/ your piston I keep telling my friend I think his is warped, because when he first got his the 2nd day he had it about his 9th tank of gas he showed me it and he didnt have a temp guage so I took mine and it read 399 degrees (400 pratically). Right behind his engine where the pipe is you can feel warm air coming out, at first we thought it was the header that he replaced because it broke, and he got a new cooling head. He's finally able to run it without it shutting off tht soon on him its now about every 5 minutes. When you run your engine that hot it can warp tht piston pretty ez, which can crack your engine because its now having tht perfect fit inside the cylinder and may cause tht black crap on your chassis thts wht I believe my friends problem is but he is very stubborn and still refuses any of my help. I would take yours into your lhs and have them check it out and see what they suggest in doing.

I took my revo to LHS, and they got it running but it couldnt stay idle for long. The guy asked me how old the gas was, how long have i had it in the fuel tank. I told him about 3 days, he said it might be that it collected water so thats why it keeps shutting off. I went home and emptied it out and put some new fuel. STILL NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!! well me and my buddy were determined to find out the problem. I started trying everything. After trying the flywheel got stuck with the glow plug off. Before it use to spin freely. I then thought it couldve been the ez-start, i took it off and then the flywheel was spinning freely once again. I checked the ez-start components and it all seemed right, but it still made the flywheel stiff. So as of now, im only thinking it can be that. Im thinking that the ez-start was putting too much pressure on the flywheel and it would get it stuck, so thats why it would shut off. Im not sure yet though. Any suggestiosn?
