Default RE: Genesis LE

Parts supply has been no problem for me. I have one LHS that stocks these trucks, and parts (Larrys), and the one i order all my stuff thru (DirtBurners). I havent broken any arms, or anything. I've taken some hits, and tumbles, that have only killed my super expensive JR 200 oz servo. Lesson learned! Dont tighten the servo saver spring all the way. I did manage to blow one gear. After replacing that gear i realized why it blew. The screws between the external 2-speed gears had backed out, and locked up the truck. Thats a really bad thing. The last time i was out with it, i had a blast jumping my sons skate ramp. And as i've mentioned, i have had it on my indoor track. Which is EXTREMELY hard packed, and i've taken my share of tumbles there. No breakage. Im glad that CEN has made this monster a RELIABLE monster. For any monster truck enthusiast, this truck really captures the feeling of a TRUE monster.

hey thermal, how is the parts supply for these things? is it durable? and how would it compare speed wise to a SS 4.6?

Hi everybody, new to this forum but have read messages posted there for sometimes. I own a 3rd gen genesis and its great. However, it seems the LE is better. I wait for the coming soon of the Nemesis 7.7 and wish to know more before I consider to buy.

Sorrypilot, didnt realize i forgot to answer that. I have yet to run it side by side with any of my other trucks. Nor have i seen an SS4.6 run yet. I will tell you its as fast, or faster than my other trucks. Ya know, Elite mentioned a local guy having a speed gun. Maybe i'll try to get with them this week, and get you a factual answer on that. 3rd gear feels VERY fast on this truck.

hey thermalRd i was wondering how soon you set the 2 and 3 gear i cant seem to get the 3rd gear to get there it makes a bad sound after i hit 2nd for about 1-2 minutes after i was wondering what your adjustments were. I made the mistake to make the second gear ingauge to quick and now i have sen some wear one the tires which is kinda funny but mostly my fault goign to run it 2morrow and terrorize some kills at the park next door.

Both my shift points are later than they were stock. I do not know the exact measurement. I can tell you that each time i adjusted them, i started by half turns. And remember there are 2 screws to adjust, and they are color coded. That goes for both the internal, and external 2 speed.

And by the way, when i had a noise after shifting, i found it to be this screw that had backed out of my external 2 speed. You might want to take a look at it real quick.

What you need is a ramp trailer so your gen can tow it into place

Sorry crusher, i have not gotten video yet. I'll talk to Binary again about that. See if he still has access to the camera. If not, i'll have to ask some family members. See what i can come up with.

Hey Thermal RD after spending time with your Genesis... do you think that motor really puts out 5hp is it really faster, has more torque and stronger than the available 28's & 30's, 32's size motors? OR do you think that a 28 will really haul that bigg thing around much faster, and stronger than it's 46. [sm=confused.gif]

Man, thats really hard to judge. I do believe this engine is stronger, and provides more torque than pretty much any of the .28's, or even .32's. Think of a savage, with a .28, then strap on another 7 or 8 lbs. I cant imagine it being very fast. See what im saying? This truck is incredibly impressive for the size, weight, and size of its tires. Weighing in at nearly 18lbs, and exhibiting the kind of power it does, i'd say the engine has more than the .28's, or .32's.

I believe so too. THe only prblem i am having is the 2nd and 3rd gears. First off its my fault and i no that but everytime i try to tune it i seem to get it to work for 1 gear then the other dont work. Other then that i love the truck i have a rush with a hyper in it and MBX they are both great but nothing compares to the overall size of the genesis.

I don't have the LE I have a second generation Genisis. I have never got it to shift the way I'd like it. It kind of shuters going into 3rd. Any ideas? When it does hit 3rd it's fast . I know I sould post this in the Cen forum but I don't care for the people there or cen racing. Funny thing is none of the hobby shops here will have anything to do with Cen Racing. So I'm on my own I have to order parts off the internet. Cen has a real bad reputation here. I've tried calling Cen with no luck HMMMM. what's up with that.

Well said answer Thermal RD... it seems that some people are still having trouble with CEN as said on this forum page, and since you said the HPI buggy looks hot and I do agree I'm going for it[sm=lol.gif]
