And just when I was starting to like the Genesis again...oh well there are other trucks. And with that attitude it will be one of those other trucks that attracts my dollars. Bye Bye Cen !!

UTvols, that is supposedly the work of a disgruntled ex-employee at CEN. The topic was discussed in the CEN forum on this board. Hopefully this thread doesnt get locked because of the mention of that site.

Hey Thermal RD or BinaryTerror how is the Mammoth ST performing out of the box. I read that the steering servo cannot handle it's high speeds it makes wide turns and it melts, and that the screws need's to be on lock down with locktite before you run it other than that it's ok i guess. I shall have my Mammoth ST this monday via UPS. Check out this review

aluminum crusher: I have not run mine....but that being said first thing I do (since I race) was replaced the stock servos day one as well as do a tear down and replace alot of the "wood" type screws with actual Machine thread screws. XTM Did a better job on the ST in the way of using many more machine screws, but trusting those woods screws is not my thing.

I just decided to test the Genesis at those needle settings, and my initial thoughts are right. It ran hotter than hell. I dont know why i even tried that. I should have kown being one full turn LEANER on the HSN would not even allow for a proper hi speed pass.

Well, i added a washer to the plug and it appears to be running just fine right now. Then i lost my steering... This just had to happen right before a race. I thought it was my servo until i tested ALL of the extra servos i have here. NONE of them are working on my steering channel. WTH!!!! I'll try to re-bind it, but i think its going to go back to Horizon... Which is really bad timing...

Well i cant say for sure yet. I was in the process of testing it with an added washer yesterday, and the steering servo stopped working. Which is apparently my spektrum RX. So now i'll be out of action with that RX for probably 2-3 weeks. Which really SUCKS!!!

ThermalRD,

SO, if I throw an extra washer to the glow plug, will this bring down the tempearutre and still perform "normally" ? without losing any power, idling right, etc, etc?

I HIGHLY recommend you buy that aluminum steering link from New Era; that plastic one will not hold if you throw in a decent high torque servo. The shock of any impact will disperse in that thin plastic drilling that links the turnbuckles to the steering system.

Abonnet, in my situation it has helped. However, i was using a LONG glo plug. Which is the WRONG glo plug. The Gen requires a short plug, or the use of 2 washers on that long plug. So if you're already using the right plug, your tune might just be off. And to be honest, i'd really like to run a few more tanks from start to finish before i decide that my half tank lean issue is solved. Although it ran perfect til it was empty last time. Oh, and that aluminum link was one of the items i had planned on months ago when i initially had ideas to buy a Genesis. I just simply havent had any problems with it, so i havent bought that part yet. I know many areas on the LE are beefed up, that may be one of the areas they updated. I know my truck has already taken some tumbles, and hits, with no problems.

STC i figured it was updated, just wasnt sure. Thanks for letting me know though. I've already run this truck pretty hard, with no problems in any area. Im really eager to get the new CEN attack, and sniper tire setup.

THANKS THERMAL. Good to know they beefed up that part on the LE. It seems I missed the LE boat by about 12 month. Just bought my Genesis, had I waited a month... whatever, I just hope this thing is fun.
I have less than a gallon into it and it is running hot but, how hot is hot? HOW HOT ARE YOUR GENESIS RUNNING GUYS? thinking on buying the crazy nut head.

My Gen runs up to about 230 and sometimes 240. When i had used the long plug without the 2nd washer it would get hot near the end of the tank. Like 280 hot... Im very pleased with the truck, and the quality, and the performance. Im eager to see the outlaw truck that will be based on the Matrix buggy. I look over the Genesis, and i see sooo many areas that are just "smart" design, and things i like to see in a vehicle. Aside from that, it just performs.
