Scale is whatever the company wants to say it is. The Revo is CONSIDERED 1/10 scale... however uses the same body as a Savage... and is BARELY smaller in size. I noticed that Losi deemed the LST2 as 1/10 scale... (at least I think it did).. but it's the same size as the LST... which is considered 1/8 scale. The Savage Kawasaki is like 1/5 scale... but it's the same as the regular Savage... it just has a different body.

Is it really fair though to compare a 1/10th scale truck vs a 1/8th scale? What if the savage was 1/10th scale then, would it tear it up or what? I'm just curious to know why people compare different scale trucks when there's obviously going to be a big difference in performance.

RE: Reavo or Savage
It doesn't matter on the size of the truck, simply the size of the engine. There is a small and big-block class. A revo can race in either, depending on whether it has a small or big-block engine installed. The LST is a big-block truck, so it races with other MT's that have Big-block engines installed. They don't mind the size of the truck, simply the size of the engine. And then there's outlaw, which small and big block engine trucks race against each other.

That's really cool, thanks for explaining that for me. Unfortunately there is no RC tracks in my state at all in Australia so I dont have the option to race or learn all the race lingo Best bet for me are BMX tracks, closest thing I can find to run on.

RE: Reavo or Savage
Yeah, scale is really relative when it comes to 1/8 and 1/10... the Savage is CONSIDERED 1/8, although it's only 2" longer, .4" shorter, and has 1" longer wheelbase than a Revo... and still uses the same bodies... compared to a LST, which is also 1/8, supposedly... which is 1" longer, and has 1" longer wheelbase than a Savage... which the LST2 is now possibly considered a 1/10 scale... (as seen in a few different specs... around the internet).... I think it's funny when people say that the Revo can't be compared to a 1/8 scale MT, even though it's just a LITTLE bit smaller... and with a "small block" engine... it can keep up with the "big boys" which aren't really that much bigger. LOL

Dammit, it's a freakin' typo man!! Geez, why the hell would it be a different scale, and yet it's the same freakin' size as the LST.

What is it manufacturers use to qualify their trucks as 1/10 or 1/8 scale? Is there a standard they follow or do they just make it up? Does anyone know...

RE: Reavo or Savage
I think Team Losi was looking at the big truck out there, but if you look at the Dodge Ram 1500, it has a wheelbase of 140.50 inches, so if you divde that be 10 you get 14.05, which is a little bit smaller than the LST, which has a wheelbase of 14.2,so there isn't much different,
