ThermalRD - have you gotten it out on the track yet? How does it feel... By the spring I am going to be in the market for an arena truck and this is the one I have been thinking about...
Are the hop up parts compatable with the EB4 S3... from there web site it looks like they are. If so that would be a huge bonus for me since I have a lot of S3 parts...

Yes, it appears the hop ups are the same from the buggy, to the truggy. I have no drive time on it yet. I may start break-in today.

I thought it looked more than a little like my buggy... Definately get the ackerman then... and upgrade to the aluminum steering servo saver too as it's the weakest part. I broke a couple before getting the alumiunm one. They aren't cheap - $50 - but its worth it. The King Headz center dif brace is also fairly important. Those are the only upgrades I have on my buggy, and its just plain awesome. I couldn't tell if the radio/servo tray was carbon fiber on your ST. The S3 came with a carbon fiber tray, so that is available if yours didn't. Damn, now I want one of those more than ever... I LOVE my S3, you are going to feel the same about that ST I am sure!

According to the Thunder Tiger site the ST-1 has a different engine than a MGT 4.6 or MTA4.
lstRacerX: Not all the hop ups are compatible. The truggy doesn't use the extruded tunnel chassis idea, its a more conventional flat chassis style. Also they show the Radio tray hop up as different. There do appear to be a lot of carry over parts, just not all.

Well i put 3 tanks thru this truck today for break-in. Its VERY well balanced. Man i was just blipping the throttle around the track, just to get used to it, and get break-in done. Man its nice. I was very impressed with its performance, and how easy it was to drive. I was playing around with the on, and off power steering, and seeing how it reacted to brakes, etc. Its just an incredible truck. The motor is incredibly user friendly. Very simple to start up, and tune. I cant wait to get it all tuned in, and finish setup. Im really looking forward to getting some new wheels and tires on this beast. Oh btw Jake, that battery, i dont think holds a charge. The second i touched the track, it died. I really dont think that me setting EPA, and other settings could have killed it yesterday. So i borrowed one from Eric, for the break-in.

New truck sounds good Thermal. How did you find the stock tires? They looked like they would be good on a loamy track. Finished the break-in yet? Thanks.

Well, its hard to judge the tires right now. I finished break in on a track that had been sooo soaked, it held moisture all day. It was like a tacky wet hard surface. I wasnt pushing it hard during break-in, but they seemed ok. Though im sure a crime fighter, or boa will be better suited for our hard packed track. When its actually dry that is. Break-in is pretty much done. I'll run one more tank, and start tuning it. After that, its getting tuned for performance. If i cant get my hands on some wheels for it soon, then i wont be racing it anytime soon. I will play around on the track though. The stock tires do look like they'd do really well in a loamy condition though.

ThermalRD,
I've posted some comments over on truggyracer.com about this truck.
It looked very good behind a Facctory Pro driver, but none the less it has me wanting one!!!

Sorry i hadnt gotten back to the post. Ya, i ran it a couple tanks to tune it, then ran a qualifier with it Sunday. The truck is incredible. No failures yet, and it downright performs. I did not race it that day, because i need some tires and wheels. Stock are good for outdoor, but not our hard pack indoor. I HOPE that i have my wheels Friday... However, im not gonna hold my breath on that. I'll try to remember to get back here for another report when i actually have traction. Also, im helping out on truggyracers.com at the TTR ST-1 forum. Though that site is extremely disfunctional.

Thermal, have you had a chance to run your ST-1 much yet?

Oh, and for a comparison, i ran it into the 19's baby'n it during that qualifier. Thats 19+ mph average im referring to. It takes ALOT to drive a standard MT into that speed. Im very impressed to be there without having the proper tires.
