In regards to buying used, how critical is break in?
For example- If Im looking at one that clearly has seen VERY little use (new looking tires, no dirt/grime in the parts, no scuffs/scrathes, etc.) is it still a fairly risky purchase ?

I would say it's less risky, however break-in is VERY important... break-in and maintenance will determine how long the engine will last. *shrug* But, if you're going to pay close to brand new price on it... why not just spend the extra money and not have someone else's truck? Buying used can save you money, but getting a new truck is SO cool. I was really envious when my friend got his new Revo.... since mine was so thrashed. LOL

Yeah, I hear ya.
Some people want right at new price, maybe $50 less, and its like, whats the point.
The Genesis and Losi, from what I can tell are $500 and $600 new, with the Genesis appearing to have higher resale.
If I get used, Im looking into one with minimal use, in the $400-$500 range.

For $400-$500... might as well just buy a brand new one. I wouldnt risk it just to save $100 unless the seller if local and you can test the truck [8D]
Used one should be around $300-$400..

Really? Wow. I mean Ive seen them go for $200-$300 on ebay, but those are the ones that look like they have been run into the ground. I think there is an LST on Ebay right now that is at like $250 with a blown motor.
The ones Ive seen for $400-$500 appear to be near new. I about bought one last night for $450, he said he literally only ran one tank through it. By the time I finished adding a CC to my paypal account, it had already been sold[&o]

what you need is a TNX Pro, a stock one can outrun a revo easily, i havent seee it go against any MGT but its damm fast, out of the box!, the TNX is the same thing also, but without the aluminium shocks and aluminium cooling head
its a great truck, handling is all good, everything is kept simple, with an O.S 3.0 cc, power plant
