ok guys what tires do you recomend for my Warhead, the stock tires are real real heavy. I know if I swap to the Tmaxx stock tires I can loose 1lb. Yea i weighed mine and my buddies Tmaxx tires/wheels. but is their any others that will work better and still loose the weight?

Here's a tire/weight chart you can check out.. [link=http://www.myrcbox.com/misc_tires_comparaison.htm]Misc. tire chart[/link] ..not sure on the weight of the Velocity rims but they are light, I have a set but not a scale... The setup mentioned by 89ram is more of a racing setup, for a hard pack track.. That doesn't mean you couldn't bash with 'em, just not the best for bashing.. (this is assuming you are looking for bashing tires..)
The stock Revo rims/tires might also be some to consider, they are light.. and you can get a full set for cheap off the bay..

thanks,
i am looking for a good all terain tire, mostly good for all surfaces, blacktop, dirt, mud, grass etc. i like the stock tires but they are so heavy, the Tmaxx tires are quicker do to their weight but not sure if traction is any better, although I cut down a set of Tmaxx tires a few years ago and they worked better then stock so I may just try that also. I will lookinto the Revo tires, are they the same size or are they bigger??
thanks

yep, those Badlands are bad arse, they look a little small on the MGT but I might get them anyway..
The Revo rim/tire setup would be good for all around use if you're lookin' to save a little $$, similar tread to the WH but softer rubber..

Got my Tmaxx tires yesterday, WOW I lost 1.5 lbs. my stock tires ranged from 420grams to 500 grams each, all the Tmaxx tires were 300g each. I also switched out my battery pack from the stock 4cell to a 5cell 1600mah sub AAA cell pack so lost about 60+ grams their also.
I am sure It will be much quicker but the tires are a tad shorter so I might loose some top end althought I know the Tmaxx tires will expand with speed so not sure their??
but loosing 1.5 lbs it has got to help, but for now we have too much snow so will have to wait to test.

If any of you guys plan to run the Revo wheel and tire setup, just be aware of the offset difference. They will decrease the track width of other MTs, and can cause things like shock and knuckle/tierod clearance issues. That's why the Pro-line Wabash is marketed as a Revo wheel, it has the same funky offset.
Besides, they are 14mm hex wheels. With the engines that some of us are running combined with the hefty weight of most of these MTs, there really is no excuse for running the weak little hex... much less wasting money on another set of 14mm hex wheels. Upgrade to 17mm or 23mm hubs instead, it's money WELL spent. Not only are you asking a lot of ANY 14mm hex setup, but some of the popular/desirable 14mm hex wheels are notoriously weak, like the Pro-line Velocities mentioned earlier. The 23mm Velocities seem to hold up much better.

i'm going to check out that ofna set. I really want these wheels to work. I spent $150 and mounted the tires then went to put them on the truck and was bummed out when they didn't fit.

Yes they will work and use the hpi drive pins, the WH ones are to long.
ORIGINAL: Nue2RC
has anyone tried the hpi 17mm hex hubs on the WH?
