Default is this okay

i have a tmaxx 3.3 and i wonder if i can put the stock revo tires on in the back and put tmaxx 2.5 tires in the front my uncle told me not to because of tire size and he said because if 1 set is smaller than the other it would eat up the gears in my transmition because the smaller tire would be rotating faster than the bigger set is this true because the size is not different they are the same height

When you get it up to speed, the fatter tires are going to balloon more causing the ratio to change and that'll mess up your gears...

He was right. The different tires will have a different gear ratio and cause mega binding in the drivetrain and why the heck would you do that anyway?
