MGT Exhaust Mod
Well, I was running my MGT over some railroad ties and it happened to catch the edge of one just right and it cut my exhaust deflector almost in half. This was about 2 weeks ago and since driving after then I noticed that my right-rear suspension arms get wet from the exhaust and as a result they get MUCH more dirty than the rest of the truck, which bothered me. So I tried thinking of how I could mod it to a rear exhaust. Well, it couldnt be done without moding the shocks. More specificly, removing the fake piggy backs. Well This is what I did and canged the mount wire a little and i have a rear exhaust
And yes, that is electrical tape.. I have a while before I can pick up a new deflector........

mine was bottom of the truck too. I was thinking about using a piece of thicker clear tubing to combat this problem as I have gone through 2 of these in less than a month.
Anybody know if using a piece of tubing that is a little longer than the factory blue tube will effect the exhaust pulses and change performance?

All kinds of clearance ,nothing hits it.I run one with the losi pipe (in that pic) and an xtm on the other one if you go to that site all the pic's ore there.Using one of those over the stock pipe also gives quite a boost in power and performance.

I drilled the stock one than sanded the top flat so everything bolted nice and tight and flat to the frame also polished and buffed it out.Cheaper than the fancy one.

To get back to your oringinal post, I did the rear exhaust deal, my ribbed pipe mounted no problen to the rear, and I removed the piggy backs like you did. thanks for the Idea, I like it better out the back. I had a Dubro deflector lying around and it is great.

yeah, I haven't had a chance to drive it yet since the mod.. I also increased the ride height and removed the engine and tranny for cleaning and to check my tranny for another problem im having. I imagine I will be able to drive it this coming weekend.
I imaging the truck would look cooler driving across the field at full throttle because you'd probably see more smoke this way

Check out the difference - the left is where the exhaust used to exit.. compared to the right where the exhaust did not exit... it gets nasty dirty...lol

Drilling out the chas. takes off some weight and putting on lighter wheels and rubber along with the foc and other little things here and there makes for more speed, and less wear and tear on the drive train.
