You can get at Autozone,Wal Mart,Pep Boys,Napa or most any Auto Parts Supply. And yes it's worth it on any engine even the Pro 70 in My EK-4 has been sealed and inspected and I hope you have a decent set of allen drivers as they make this stuff a lot easier. You dont strip the bolt heads.

I agree!! I've got the force .26 in my mbx pro buggy. It starts fine but I have to lean it way out to get it to run. Then the temps go way up and it runs very erratic. I use trinity monster brew which has 16% oil so its getting plenty of lube. I think I'll call ofna and see if they will fix or replace it.

You are WAY too lean. Andrew(on the Ofna site) will tell you Piccos run rich. Resist leaning & richen to hold temp-it will all come together. You have a lean out stutter not a rich stutter.
My Picco P2 had that exact thing going on. A Mc-8(medium) and about 7 turns out(hsn)-(lsn out from flush) for me & my Picco runs cool & strong. Get your idle right(1.5~2mm), so your not working around a motor that won't idle.
Make it smoke!

ridethelightnin, it may sound trivial but did you check you clutch springs yet? A lot of what you described is similar to the problems keeping an engine with a broken clutch spring idling.
Then again you have engines that just don't work, somehow during manufacturing something goes wrong and the engine is just plain faulty. It's not too common but it does happen, this may be an example.

I for one dont understand why they the manufactures wont give us more product information. But I've been in this hobby many years and it seem's most products arent quite complete or finished so I guess We should just share info with each other and enjoy what We do get from this hobby.

Simple answer IMO. The more informed you/we are, the less $$$ they make.

I am running two and I have not had any problems It was time comsumming to get it dial in correctly but once it was tune correctly it is a strong runner. I also had a Mach 26 same engine use in the lst which lots of people recomend because of how powerfull and easy to tune they are but I found the picco to be a better engine.

This thread is MORE THAN A YEAR OLD! lol..
I know they had some issues.. but in this case.. sounds like the carb opening is a bit too wide.. need a restrictor in there...

RE: Warning: .26 = POS DO not buy!!
whole problem sounds like a bad clutch bearing. I had this same problem with a hyper .21 ofna suggested I change the clutch bearing out. I did under protest that the ones I had were new and should not be bad. They were right on! I put in a new set of bearings and clutch shoes and its a whole new engine.

I got a Hyper7 with a Picco .26 and it runs grate,I did my brake in and now it's smooth as glass.Hmmmm.......I don't know why your .26 runs bad,but it took me about 7 tanks at 255cc of 30% to get it right and now it runs supper fast.this buggy is 4X4 and new with the 16T BELL and all the hop-ups to it.I use a R-1 and I can set throtel curve and ABS so that it don't stall.I have 4 XXXNT trucks and my Traxess on road nt with a Picco .15 in it.I have 27 engines of all types from OS to Picco to DEAN from .12's to .28's and I didn't brake not a one.I'm not saying you all don't know how to tune a engine at all so don't jump on me.[:@]
I'm not a master of NT-FULE but i have car's, truck's,planes, hellacopters so I'm not new to this.I got one spaire .26 for my buggy and did the same brake in and it to runs good.

I have a friend who had the same problem with that engine. He replaced the carb. with a standard o.s. carb I think it was a #20 o.s. It is the factory os .21 buggy carb. It made his Picco run good, Strong power and idles like a champ.. Good luck with your engine.
Take care,
Jay

You said you are not new to r/c, but it sounds to me like it could be a clutch adjustment problem. If your clutch is engaging too early you would have those exact problems. You are running a faster more powerfull enginge than before so maybe you need stiffer clutch springs. Also make sure the bell spins freely.

Hey, it's nice of you guys to try and help out the original poster of this thread with his Picco .26 problems, but you do realize that his original post was from OVER 2 YEARS AGO!!!!! He hasn't even logged onto this site since 6/17/2003.
Debating the points made on the first page of this thread is rediculous. Those people aren't even active members here anymore.
