either the picco 26 or hyper 8 port. the There both under $200 and i highly recomend them i have a savage with a hyper 8 port in it and it fly's. I'm in the process of putting in a picco 26.Hope i helped.Oh and when you upgrade the engine you probly will need to upgrade the dogbones to some titianium one's and any plastic drivetrain parts such as gears will need to be replaced with steel or titianium one's being that with a bigger more powerfull engine you will definitly strip some gears . i know i did when i got my hyper 8 port. hope i helped.

Thanks for the help Kenny! So both of those engines are better than a .21 O.S engine? People tell me O.S. is the way to go? What is your opinion?

Heres my opinion.

I think OS makes higher quality engines.. But you'll end up paying more.

I think its a tradeoff
But I dont think the others are any "less" of an engine compared to OS.

The XTM .247 is also a good engine and cheap. A bit more torqy than the .26 and you can buy it for 139.99. Also very easy to break in and reliable. Doesnt have quite the top end of the Picco but with a MT that's not as important.

Default Do a search in this forum about the .26

There is about the same (50/50) good and bad said about it! As far as the conversion kit goes XTM makes IMO the most complete kit out there! It comes with steel CVD's and drive shafts so there is no need to buy those. I would get a steel spur gear and a MG high tourq steering servo! I have 2 XTM conveted Maxx's one with a Torq .21 and the other with a Force .25 and both rock!

What is the diff between the Picco .26 and the XTM 24.7? What kind of top speeds would i be getting from them? And what kind of setup will i need to have a good top speed but still have the torque to pull wheelies? How much does the Picco retail for i heard it was under 200 then i saw one on ebay that said it retailed for like 275 ? Iam confused.

you can buy the picco .26 through www.neweramodels.com for $175 and thats brand new. almost all on ebay are used and hes goin for 275!? what a rip-off. but im doing the same thing to my t-maxx i think... but how much is the xtm and can you give us a link to the xtm conversion so we can check it out? ive gone to the xtm website but i want a total price not a bunch of prices that you have to total, cause half of the stuff im not even sure if i would need.

The XTM 24.7 is a lot better than the Picco 26. Ask Adeoliver. He has BOTH engines. Everyone is also cracking their one way's in their Piccos. The 24.7 is the engine to get at only $120 compared to the $160 or so for the Picco.

Default Here is a link to the kit!

For the price ($119) it is got to be the best out there! They even give you the CVD's for the old and the new Maxx's! And GTX is right! The .26 is not worth the extra cash!IMO

Here is a good deal for the 24.7 - $140 for the engine and a new cylinder head. I like that. I think I will get one after I get my new 9.5 and beat the crap out of my Force 25.

I love this question. If your gonna go big block Tmaxx spend the money and go supermaxx or other high quality stuff . Get the Tranny and drive train ready to handle the conversion first if not you'll spend more time fixing then playing. If your on a budget then upgrade slowly. But be for warned the Tmaxx doesn't have the most hop ups avaliable for nothing. Don't get me wrong a .21 maxx done right is one of the best trucks you can have but it has to be done right.

Default Once you get the Force .25 broke in,

You will love it! My Maxx with the .25 ripps it up big time! It runs great and holds it's tune well! The only down side to this engine is it is just so hard to pullstart! I have not broken a cord yet! (Knock on wood) but, I am sure it's going to happen sooner or later! I love it's power and speed enough to put up with the hard pull!
