riped the pullstart off.so had to replace, after fitting uprated clutch the clutch bell
started to split and ended up shaped like a bell [:o]the chassis a bit bent up and creesed
around the steering servo hole ..
when the tyres are spining fast they expand just like a top fuel dragster.

Jaymagic, did you seal the primer pump? I think I am goin to have to seal it. I don't seem to be getting enough fuel and the engine just doesn't have the top end it used to. I need to upgrade the pipe as well.

RE: Tips for Smartech Magic Wheel

hi steve
no thought i might damage the tank, just put lots of grease on it to seal it
is yours out

RE: Tips for Smartech Magic Wheel

out? not sure what you mean. The primer is still in the tank. I ran the truck today and everything seemed to be running fine. I just did a little carb adjustment. I do notice that I don't have much compression when I start cranking over the engine when cold, but when it heats up, there's good compression. Any thoughts. BTW, I am new to Nitro and MTs, so bare with me cause I'll have questions. Thanks for replying.

RE: Tips for Smartech Magic Wheel

Is this Magic Wheel really worth it? I mean, I've never seen anything like that happen to a clutchbell before. It looks like the materials they're using are really cheap. Normally people upgrade "from stock" up to something, not upgrade "up to stock parts".
How much is 1 of these? 1/2, so about $175 with no ez start, 2.5 engine, and a weaker chassis. It's a definite project truck. In hardtech's vid it looks like he's having a good time with it and that's all that matters I suppose, as long as you know what you're getting into.

RE: Tips for Smartech Magic Wheel

Prolly a dumb question but if u seal off the primer how do u prime it???

jaymagic 08-08-2005 04:10 PM

RE: Tips for Smartech Magic Wheel

:)hello ,to prim the engine pull off the fuel pipe on the exhaust blow down it, til fuel come down the carb.
if your going to up grade the t-maxx to race alloy stuff like they all do,you may as well buy the magic and hop up to race
specks like i did with the clutch bell to a vented steel one.

an easier way to prime it is to put ur finger over the end of the exaust and pull the starter a few times and its fully primed.:D

Why do people keep coming on here saying it is an "illegal copy of the T-Maxx"????? If it was illegal, don't you think Traxxas would have done something over the years about it??!! Traxxas probably sold them the rights to make their older version t-maxx. What do they care...they are now "double dipping" with the new AND old stuff. [&:]
I think you are half right... There is no juridictional body to enforce some global copyright laws. Sure, the US could halt imports etc, but Traxxas has no way to file suit against some of these asain companies. No doubt the reason Traxxas would have no use for persuing some sort of injunction or import ban is that the truck is half the quality and doesn't affect their overall bottom line. In fact, if many of the T-maxx parts fit this truck, all the more reason NOT to try to halt its import: These trucks (T-maxx, Revo, Savage, MGT etc) are practically loss leaders and most of the companies profit lies in selling the spare parts. If the Magic Wheel breaks often, Traxxas will actually make MORE money from the extra sale of parts!

well i have a winner on road.. and ive been thinking about my next purchase as far my next rc. i know i want it to be a truck... ive definatlely been looking at the savage ss 4.6, main reason is that i would really enjoy building a kit, especially that kit. but after reading this thread, the magic wheel looks decent, i would definately not be seen with that original body... very ugly! i like the hpi one in the video though. so iono, i guess it all depends on the money that i have and make over the summer!
