RE: The Ofiicial Thunder Tiger Ducati 999 & Desmosedici
How come I see some of the Thunder Tiger Ducati's with upside down/inverted forks and some with conventional? Are there two different versions with the RTR's?
Nevermind, I think my eyes were deceived by the paint shading giving me the impression that they are inverted. For example, on jonmills bike where the bodywork is covering the top of the forks.

Well, I had to get one (Desmo) since I have been into real motorcycles since the 1970's. I have been quite pleased with how it runs so far. Alot easier to control than I expected. I cut and shortened the crash bars in order to get maximum lean angle and that helps. I'm finishing engine breakin, so I can't speak for it's maximum top end. Low end is pretty good, as you can break the wheel loose if your not careful. But some of that has to do with the stock rubber. The stock electronics are good for learning. Radio is similar to the MGT's. The servos could be upgraded to more powerful one's, once you get the basics of handling. A must if you add the optional front brake. The rear shock leaks and constantly check all bolts. (Locktite is your friend)

I assume the 999 and Desmo-thing are technically the same with just different bodies??

Here is an updated picture of my bike, after I did some more paint work and detailing so that it looks like the GP6 version of the MotoGP racer.

No different than shipping anywhere else. You just need to ship it as a gift... ;-)
Besides that, it just costs more... But given the current exchange rate, paying 40 or even 50 bucks for shipping(if that's what it would cost..) would still be well worth it for somebody living with Euros, given prices here..
A new nitro Ducati here costs €385 shipped... That's $517....
