Default What to do first??

I just got a old nitro rustler, and it doesn't run. It has a pull start motor, and it doesn't pull. The pull starter part was just replaced, and it won't budge. It did for a little bit pull, and start the engine, but now it does not. The person I got it from thinks the motor seized, and needs a new one. I do not know anything about nitros, and need help with this. I don't think it is a stock motor either, because the exhaust pipe (i think) has a little pipe that comes off that and points outwards from the body, and it doesn't fit into the little spot icut in the body where it would go.

Also, as of right now I do not have a transmitter for it, and I just plan to swap the crystal out of one of my electrics to it, since I can only drive one at a time. I need to know though is how many channels do I need for it. I will eventually get a transmitter, but I would like to get it running first.

it is probably seized. for the rustler, you should get a decent .18 engine or smaller. it needs two channels, one for throttle/brake, one for steering

What about the shaft size? I'm finding short shaft, long shaft, and multi shaft versions if what appear to be the same engine. Also, for the exhaust, is there anyway to get one that will fit so I can run the body, or do most come with an exhaust made for the engine.

Also, what are some good brands for fuel. I will need to get some when I get a new engine.

did the person before you make any modifications to the car to make a different shaft size fit? and was it a rustler 2.5 or 3.3? usualy you have to get an exhaust kit seperate, and you need different pipes for different engines/applications to get optimum performance. odonnel, trinity, blue thunder, all good brands

I do not know if they made any modifications, so how can I tell? I plan on getting most if not all of all the parts I need for my 4 most compete onesin one big order, since I don't have a single working RC.
